Ukrainian

Greetings. I wish I could spend a few dozen hours of my life translating the TF2 Wiki into Ukrainian, but I see that for some reason the Ukrainian language is in the «not supported» status.

Given the general situation and the fact that there are quite a few players from Ukraine, is it possible to change this status? To do this, do I need to spend the same dozens or hundreds of hours on the translation into Ukrainian, and only then will this issue be considered?

Thank you.

By the way, the level of Ukrainian translation in TF2 is only slightly inferior to Russian.

It was previously discussed, there would need to be an interest from multiple people. Translating the whole Wiki from scratch is quite a big task, you'd have to gather a team of people willing to translate to Ukrainian over a long period of time for it to be considered.

So how do you know that this number of people in the team will be enough?
Theoretically, I can gather 1-2 dozen people to do this, but I don't want to be rejected for some unknown reason.
Or maybe it's worth working to make progress in at least the language that's at the bottom of the list of languages that are most relevant first?
Personally, I still have quite a bit of free time and I can allocate it to reach at least the minimum mentioned above.

We can't give any hard targets, because there's the risk of that target being met and then being abandoned/barely worked on. Just in general we'd need to see some interest from different people over a long period of time. Also note that this would be done on the User space rather than the main space.

So, to summarize: Until there is some relatively tangible shift in the Ukrainian-speaking community's attitude toward wikis, no one has the right to do anything/translate anything, right?
p.s.: I forgot to add - what about direct translation guides? Like «Translation switching», «Translation progress», or all this in English only?

I'll start a discussion with some other staff to see what the best course of action is, but the main way to show interest is to start translating. I'm fairly certain it should be done on User space for now (e.g. User:FIRUIN/Scattergun/uk, but I'm not entirely sure about that so I'll get back on that. I'd start by making a page here and gather a list of Users who want to contribute.
As for guides, they should be English only. Translators are expected to know English. I would start out by reading some basic guide pages (such as Help:Editing or Help:Style guide) on Wiki editing.
