Current leagues and competitions
ozfl: the ozfortress league
The ozfortress league is the longest running competition in Australia/New Zealand. The ozfortress league consists of all clans at every different skill level without divisions, with rounds determined based on win/loss streaks. This league is seen as an introduction to competitive fortress gaming, a trial of new competitive-designed maps, and the basis of getting an invitation into the ozfortress winter league series.
owl: the ozfortress winter league series
The premier ozfortress competition, the ozfortress winter league series is a closed, round-robin based competition run seasonally and divided into a number of distinct divisions. Clans must apply to join the competition prior to the season's commencing, and clan rosters are locked aside from three transfer windows during the season.
ozhl: the ozfortress highlander league
The ozfortress highlander league provides a unique opportunity for clans to compete in the newer "highlander", or 9v9 with each class limited to one player, game style.
ozfc: the ozfortress cup
The ozfortress cup is a double elimination, 16 team format, exhibition competition that was held at the end of 2009 and 2010, involving the top 12 clans of the year with another 8 wildcards involved in knockout matches to fill the final 4 slots.
ultiduo
ultiduo is a 2v2 tournament where teams are comprised of a traditional "combo" (a soldier and medic pair). Combos duel each other in a specially designed king of the hill map, forcing a reliance on both deathmatching skill and tactical awareness. The format is run in the single elimination style on a single night of incomparably fast paced action.
ozfortress state of origin
ozfortress State of Origin is a traditional 6v6 double elimination tournament in which Australasia's top players represent not their usual clans, but the state or territory in which they reside.
capping for a cause
Capping for a Cause, (or C4C), is a 6v6 fundraising competition involving a maximum of 16 teams fighting it out in a double elimination scenario. In order to raise money, teams are asked to "buy their seed" in the competition by making a donation upon sign-up. Higher donations result in higher seedings, easing the path of a team through the competition. Capping for a Cause has been run three times thus far, raising thousands of dollars for the Australian Cancer Research Foundation, the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and beyondblue. Throughout the 3 competitions, almost $7000 has been raised.
Past competitions
A number of one-off competitions have been run by ozfortress, including the KritzKast Offclass Cup, Custom Fortress League, ClanSport TF2 Masters, netGameRadio invitational and Civil War.
Unlocks
Unlocks are discussed regularly, with the aim of promoting balanced, fair and varied gameplay. ozfl and owl allowed weapons:
