It was announced to the public on October 21, 2010, and was started by Patrick "ThePledge" Fuchs, Matt "d2m" Davies, and Lazar "Comedian" Jovic. On May 26th 2011 TF2TV disbanded with the launch of VanillaTV, with final closing statements on their website[1] on June 5th.

Stream
TF2TV broadcast most of the matches they cover through the use of both live streaming and a mumble cast combined with a source TV on the match server. This allows viewers to chose between watching the game in-browser through their affiliate own3d.tv channel[2] with the camera controlled by one of the casting team or open the game and control the camera themselves whilst listening to the shoutcast through mumble. When the cast is live, the TF2TV homepage automatically directs viewers to the own3d.tv channel currently in use.
Podcast
TF2TV also runs a weekly podcast called TF2 Talkings hosted by Patrick "ThePledge" Fuchs and Sivert "Torden" Bakkeng. It is primarily a competitively orientated podcast, often featuring guests from within the scene, where the latest things happening in the European community are discussed. It also occasionally features themed episodes on specific subjects such as upcoming LANs or European competitive TF2 leagues. A notable element of TF2 Talkings is the Torden Factor, a rant written by Torden that covers particular (often negative) elements of the TF2 competitive scene. The podcast is usually broadcasted live at 17:00 GMT on Sundays, with the episode also available for download within twelve hours of the cast. All the episodes can be found in the podcast archive.[3]
Teamgasm
The "Teamgasm" cup is a monthly invitational TF2 cup run and casted by TF2TV. The main body of the cup is played on the second Wednesday of every month, with the final match within a week of that date. It features a selected division or skill level and invites European teams at this level to play within the cup allowing a more balanced selection of teams than is often seen in the cup format. Matches from each round are casted in order to ensure maximum coverage of the cup which often includes a prize of hats or other in-game items for the winning teams.
The Art of War contest
The Art of War contest is a TF2TV competition to create a TF2TV related poster or wallpaper. The winner will receive a TF2 T-shirt or a $30 Steam game, while second place will win a set of TF2 Trading Cards or a $10 Steam game.
iksD
On April 10th, iksD and TF2TV joined forces. Badnab and Ragard would join TF2TV to provide daily TF2 fragclips and Top 5 countdowns of competitive games on TF2TV's YouTube channel.
