Broken 16?

Yes i have indeed gotten to the 16 domination streak, but thats besides the point.
When one gets 16 nothing appears, icon wise, near your username. M-NINJA 03:24, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

Same with me. I tested on tr_walkway, using the default botcount of 16. The icon was there until I dominated the 16th bot. --WackoMcGoose 04:45, 18 February 2011 (UTC)
I might as well add that I'm the one that originally tested that on an airshot map against 19 bots. Looks like this appeared on the talk page the day after I added that in, so...yeah. I shoulda been in the IRC channel for this. -- InShane 05:27, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

Domination

First time posting so sorry if I mess this up, but has anyone else noticed that when dominating someone for a fair amount of times and killing them well past 4 times that it will no longer count it towards your domination medal count next to your name on the stats tab? It will still show that you are dominating them next to their name, but this is just a little thing I noticed and wondered if anyone else noticed. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sketch (talk) • (contribs)

I've run into this so many times that I was surprised it didn't exist on the article. Added. — nVis (talk) 00:18, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
In my experience, the miscount always seems to occur when someone you are dominating leaves the server. When that happens, your count is dropped by 2 instead of 1. There have been times where I have 3 dominations and when one of the players leaves, I am left with a single domination counted next to my name. The domination icons on the other side of the scoreboard are always correct though. I'm not 100% sure this is how it works, but it always seemed like it. It should be pretty easy to test quickly with 3 or 4 people: just have one person achieve multiple dominations then have one of the dominated players leave and see if the count remains accurate. -- Alex2539 - (talk | contribs) -- 18:32, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

Weird domination icons

I was playing against 22 bots earlier today and had enabled friendly fire. As a medic, I ended up dominating every player, including my teammembers. As is stated on the article, 16 dominations shows no medal count, but when I had 22, in the place of the medal, there was the Demoman's class icon. At 21 it turned into the Soldier's icon, 20 was Sniper, 19 Scout, 18, 17 and 16 were all blank. Did they not expect anyone's dominations to reach that high? --BippoErnesti 20:28, 20 September 2011 (PDT)

The official player limit of a TF2 server is 32. 16 for each team. So, the max amount of players you can dominate on a "offical" server is 16. Valve didn't even bother making domination medals past that number, because they don't recommend playing on a server with the player limit past 16. The class icons are a result of variable overflow, this is the same reason in Pac-Man if you ever reach level 256 the maze gets messed up. Hope this helps! --Dan9er (talk) 13:36, 17 April 2015 (PDT)

Dominating a teammate

I recently watched a youtube video where the game gave credit to a medic getting domination over a friendly teammate in the killfeed (healing a disguised spy; i assume it was only one assist, not multiple times). If so, does it reflect in the scoreboard count (bottom part) and next to the dominated-revenge player. I can't actually contact the people involved and can't do it myself so if there are a group of peeps out there who could test this to see what would happen, I would appreciate it. I confirm, just tested it with some friends of mine. You get a domination kill icon, domination announcement and a medal on scoreboard.
You cannot see a domination icon above a dominated teammate though (and in a scoreboard as well).
Also dominated teammate can get a revenge by the same means (assisting a spy in killing dominating person).

More enthusiastic responses?

"Dominating several people in one round will result in increasingly enthusiastic responses from your character." Are you sure about that? The line said by your character depends on how many players you dominate? That seems rather... unlikely to me. I've always thought they were randomly chosen. Can anyone confirm/refute? —BobMathrotus (talk) 12:48, 9 July 2012 (PDT)

For the Achievements in the General Section, Don't you have to dominate a player wearing a gibus to earn one? The preceding unsigned comment was added by Barack Obama (talk) • (contribs)

Its under the Halloween achievements as it is a Halloween achievement. Not general. And don't forget to sign your posts. Ashes (talk) 16:39, 5 June 2014 (PDT)

Why isn't the voiceline at the top Scout's "Domination, look it up?"

I feel as though that would be more befitting. TophatGuy14 (talk) 14:35, 4 August 2022 (UTC)

No real reason for it, I personally think that the current one feels less obvious and fits better because it revolves around the Domination mechanic rather than just the Scout straight-up saying the word. Just my opinion, though, I think both fit well.
