  • "Fog of war covers the area."
  • "You send your Neotank unit to scout the nearby forest, but gets stopped short by a hidden unit!"

I'm just having my fun. -- Vi3trice (talk) 00:57, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

  • "You proceed to pummel the pathetic Megatank with your cleverly hidden Artillery and Rockets. Too bad it had run out of fuel and ammo anyways."
I've actually never played Dual Strike before. >_< -The Neotank ( | Talk) User The Neotank Signeotank.gif 14:51, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

Ego you say?

Mwahahaha! Perhaps :). Heh, I just saw that Smashman and others had their item pictures up on the Community Weapons, and figured since the Self-Made had no images, that I'd get in there first! How are you this fine day? -- Benjamuffin Om nom nom! 21:48, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

That was faster than I expected. Eez good day. -The Neotank ( | Talk) User The Neotank Signeotank.gif 21:49, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
Well I was patrolling the recent changes as it were, so I guess you caught me at the right time :D. Is it scarily ironic that I can't remember the last time I had chocolate to eat? Doesn't help that I am currently starving. Meh... -- Benjamuffin Om nom nom! 21:53, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

Clearing the "debatable" air

I'm on the border of going offline for the evening, but I just wanted to say that I hope there are no hard feelings with the difference in opinion. As that is all it was really. Nothing more. Hope the evening treats you well :) -- Benjamuffin Om nom nom! 01:28, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

Hey Neotank. Glad you liked it. :D Indeed, I spotted it on GMang's talk page and thought it was a good idea. Admittedly, I got lost in terms of what to write for some bits although your writing gave me some idea of what to write. I do play Medic a lot in competitive so I should know the ins and outs of the class and try end up talking about class strategies to guys I mix with a lot. The Vita-Saw in particular has given me quite a sense of curiosity although I've only used it in one mix thus far (most people are silly not allowed some Polycount weapons) so most of what I said about it was that sort of in theory kind of writing.

I'll try and move onto the other classes soon, although for now I will try and develop the Medic's one further so I have a solid template to base them all off. :D --Leftism 14:34, 11 October 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, good work with that. I might end up moving the draft to Soldier weapons (competitive), I just kinda forgot about it after a while. On a side note, I think that the Vita-Saw is kinda OP in competitive, stray meatshots, rollers, and random rockets mean that 10 HP won't make a difference. -The Neotank ( | Talk) User The Neotank Signeotank.gif 14:38, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
True. Although one could say similar things about the Pain Train. In the recent Experimental Ordinance Cup hosted by the ETF2L (where all pre-Polycount weapons were allowed) Demomen carrying to the Pain Train suggested that it was pretty much a straight upgrade to the Bottle. 10% Bullet damage doesn't add up to much, at worst a Scattergun meat shot meant say 10 more damage than carrying a bottle. Hardly anything with a +1 extra cap rate. Even more useful for roaming Soldiers, tbh. --Leftism 14:51, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
Is someone forgetting every Soldier's little buddy? :P -The Neotank ( | Talk) User The Neotank Signeotank.gif 14:54, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
I don't play Soldier in competitive, EVER. Just ask MandL about my "amazing" ability to rocket jump. ;-) Btw, would you mind having a look at my quick attempt at making a competitive map article. I'd enjoy hearing your thoughts! :D --Leftism 15:00, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
You should probably ask G-Mang, I'm not sure what he wants the map articles to look like. I'm tempted to write "DEMOSPAM DEMOSPAM DEMOSPAM" all over your Badlands choke section, though. Looks good, though the "Rollout" portion may need rephrasing or clarification. -The Neotank ( | Talk) User The Neotank Signeotank.gif 15:05, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
Looks OK phil, id remove the place names as they are in the main map page anyway and concentrate on the roll outs for each class including the medic. You may want to detail the spawning positions of the classes and yes demospam lol--Markd 15:10, 11 October 2010 (UTC)

Hat Pricing Guide

Hi, I'm sorry I thought the hat pricing guide would be helpful to guide players in their trades, but it's ok I understand now why it couldn't be added on a Wiki, I've checked the discussion page you sent me. Thanks for the attention, cya. Allukard 16:45 (GMT -03:00), 31 October 2010 (UTC)

Thanks. It was pissing me off every time I looked at it :P -Shine[] 19:44, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
Damn, if it wasn't for the fact that any of those take up the same file space on the server, I'd recommend the PNG version since it's 546 bytes smaller than the GIF version while keeping the transparency. Jolly good, then. -- Vi3trice (talk) 19:46, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

Thanks from Sonic Nova

Thanks NeoTank, I'm fairly new at editing, just started last month. I was not aware of a preview button, thanks for the tip. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sonic Nova (talk) • (contribs)

Do you know how to delete a page? I have a Header Template that I want to permanently delete. Sonic Nova 20:14, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

You can't. Only Moderators, Administrators, etc. can delete pages. Link me to the page and I'll deal with it. Also, tab your comments over on talk pages with colons ( : ), it makes discussions easier for everyone to read. :P `-The Neotank ( | Talk) User The Neotank Signeotank.gif 03:23, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

Custom Kill Icons

Do you know how to add custom kill icons from your computer onto your wiki page? Sonic Nova 22:28, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

You could add it to the Kill Notice template if you really wanted to, but that's completely unnecessary when you could also just create an image with you custom kill icon and upload it for your page. It's probably less work for a single kill icon too, and I wouldn't recommend editing an oft-used template for your own user space. Good luck! -The Neotank ( | Talk) User The Neotank Signeotank.gif 20:17, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

Polycount in Competitive

Hey Neo, just a heads up: The ETF2L are running a Experimental Ordnance Cup ([1]) to evaluate the Polycount weapons in competitive play. Users are required to run with certain weapons from the Polycount pack and are encouraged following the cup to give feedback on the weapons on the ETF2L forums. Just thought it maybe a good idea to keep the ol' eyes peeled on the forums after Wednesday night to get some idea of how exactly the weapons feel in competitive play.--Leftism 17:30, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

Ah, looks pretty neat. The requirements look a bit weird though, too much in the way of utilities? :P -The Neotank ( | Talk) User The Neotank Signeotank.gif 20:17, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

Custom Skin?

Er, what do you mean custom skin on the cloak & dagger? --Org 01:27, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

Undone Battalion's Backup edit

The tank buster and backup have a 20% damage reduction combined with 35% damage reduction. If multiplied, this is 1 / (0.8 * 0.65) = 1 / 0.52 = 1.9x If added, this is 1 / (1 - (0.2 + 0.35)) = 1 / 0.45 = 2.222_x I may be new here, but I'm not new to basic math. If you can find me something that says the damage reduction functions differently I'd appreciate it. Otherwise, please don't revert edits before checking your numbers. Unapologetically Bad 17:49, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

First: I submit to you that I did my math incorrectly, good work in spotting that. Secondly, unless you're sure of your numbers and have tested them, don't assume that the reduction is added instead of subtracted. Thirdly, that item is on the wrong page to begin with. See Soldier strategy#Battalion's Backup. Good day. -The Neotank ( | Talk) User The Neotank Signeotank.gif 17:54, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
I see, thanks for the pointer then. I never noticed those pages before. I'm doing testing on the damage with no damagespread right now, where would you advise I leave my results? Just in the talk section? Unapologetically Bad 18:12, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
If you're confident in your results, feel free to just go ahead and add it to the Soldier strategy page itself. :) -The Neotank ( | Talk) User The Neotank Signeotank.gif 18:21, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

Magnificent Mongolian

I think the second part of the trivia you deleted/removed from the Magnificent Mongolian page is relevant, as I can certainly say if you go in to any random TF2 server, pub or pro, and ask why the Heavy has a Mongol-related hat, no one will answer. There are lots of historical references for the hats that can allude to many other things in the TF2 universe, such as the Heavy's ancestry or perhaps to where in Russia he is from (perhaps the southeast area, which does have lots of Mongolian blood, customs, and linguistic influences in modern day Russia). ventus (talk)  20:59, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

Frankly, I'm not so sure about that. For one, it smacks of a great deal of speculation, something we want to avoid as much as possible on the wiki. Furthermore, the relevance is something that only the hat's creator can answer for. If you happen to know the hat's creator and can get a confirmed reference for the hat, then it may be okay trivia, but as it stands, that piece doesn't quite fit the trivia guidelines. -The Neotank (Talk) User The Neotank Signeotank.gif 01:22, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
