RE: Userpage

Simple. I just went to TF2R.com, and viewed the page source. Saved the CSS and the main page, then made my own modifications to it and created a new version of my website for my TF2 servers (also known as "404Gaming"). Then I realized I could transfer everything to the Wiki and make a new userpage out of it.

Currently, it uses 2 templates: The Header (which has the title pre-set to "Welcome to my page".), and the Footer (which is just "</div>"....nothing else. It's a simple template xD). Feel free to copy the coding on both the Header and Footer "templates", and make your own /Header & /Footer subpage templates. As well, I also made the Notice, which is exactly the same thing as the notice thing used on TF2R. The Notice template was coded to be just like the Header, so you have to use the Footer template after it to properly close the div's, and have everything display properly.

However, Pilk just added me to the Wiki's CSS so I can go and create User:404_User_Not_Found/Page.css, and then change the coding of my userpage to use
tags and HTML, instead of wiki-code. So if you want to, you can go ahead and copy the coding of the header/footer/notice if you want, because if I can get this new CSS thing to work properly for me, I'm labelling those templates to be deleted 404 User Not Found 08:37, 13 July 2011 (PDT)
That's a lot more confusing than i expected it to be... YACK 09:00, 14 July 2011 (PDT)

RE: RE: Userpage

Before I get into this full-on explanation of how to set everything up, if you want me to create your Header/Footer/Notice templates and get the basic Userpage structure set up for you, let me know. It'll only take me a few minutes. If you want to try it yourself, then continue reading...

Should be easier now. I've added a custom title thing to the header so it's not stuck on "Welcome to my page!".

First, you'll have to create:

Then copy the contents of:

Into your personal Header, Footer and Notice subpages.

Onto setting up the userpage. First, if you want the brown background, this goes at the very top of your userpage:
{| cellspacing="0" style="width: 388px; width: 100%; background: #362f2a;"
| style="font-size: 9pt; padding: 4pt; line-height: 1.25em; color: black;" |
{| cellspacing="0" style="width: 388px; background: #362f2a;"
|
|
|}

Then, to add the main body to a userpage, paste this code in below the background color code:
<div style="width:100%;">
{{/Header|title=Enter the title here}}
Enter text here.
{{/Footer}}
</div>

Let's say you want a notice at the top of the page. Paste this code in above the main body code, and below the background color code.
<div style="width:100%;">
{{/Notice}}
Enter text here.
{{/Footer}}
</div>

With the first bit of code (the /Header and /Footer thing), you can simply copy and paste multiple copies of the code to create multiple boxes, or you can use big text to separate sections like they do on TF2R.com (like the headers "Welcome to TF2R!" and "Change List"). And where it says "Enter text here." in the main body code, you can put userboxes, images, whatever. I think if you try to use that "User Infobox" template, it may screw up the formatting of the page. I'm not sure. 404 User Not Found 10:20, 13 July 2011 (PDT)

Nice page :D

Lookin' good bro! Glad to see you got it up and running, and if you have any issues, feel free to let me know and I'll be glad to help! 404 User Not Found 10:15, 14 July 2011 (PDT)

Also, incase you hadn't noticed yet, I did make a new "UrgentNotice" template yesterday. It's basically the "Notice" template, but with a red border and red shadowing. Again, feel free to use it if you want to :P 404 User Not Found 10:24, 14 July 2011 (PDT)
