Upon taunting with the Equalizer or Escape Plan: the Soldier throws his weapon over his shoulder dramatically, cracks his knuckles, rips a grenade from his bandolier and pulls the pin. The resulting explosion will gib the Soldier himself, and any enemy too slow, unaware, or simply unfortunate enough to be within range.

The Soldier can avoid killing himself while still doing the taunt if he is somehow launched/knockbacked into the air with a sizable amount of health remaining. This will cause him to gain extra height, as if he was rocket jumping mid-air, while still maintaining his momentum and receiving reduced self-inflicted damage. All enemies unfortunate enough to come within the blast radius will still be gibbed.

This article is about the kill taunt for the Soldier. For other uses, see Grenade.
C'mere, cupcake!
The Soldier

The Grenade, also known as Kamikaze, is a kill taunt for the Soldier that can be performed with the Equalizer or Escape Plan as the active weapon.

Upon taunting, the Soldier throws his weapon over his shoulder dramatically, cracks his knuckles, rips a grenade from his bandolier, and pulls the pin. The resulting explosion gibs any enemy too slow, unaware, or simply unfortunate enough to be in range, as well as the Soldier himself.

The Grenade deals 500 damage to enemy players, skeletons, and buildings that are within approximately 96 Hammer units (roughly 6 foot / 1.8 meters) of the explosion, and deals 320 damage to the Soldier initiating the taunt. The explosion originates from the Soldier's hand holding the grenade. The area of effect of this taunt allows the Soldier to kill multiple enemies, including any that are next to or even behind him. Enemies that inflict damage to the taunting Soldier before the explosion are credited with a Grenade kill.

Airblasting the taunting Soldier can relocate the center of the blast, but usually completely cancels the taunt.

Performing the Grenade taunt with the Lumbricus Lid equipped causes the "Hallelujah" sound clip from the Worms games to play, as well as a unique kill icon being used, while using the Holy Hand Grenades.

As with most kill taunts, this taunt can be used to kill enemy players during Humiliation and Stalemates.

The kill icon for the taunt with the Lumbricus Lid was contributed by Psyke .
