* The Guard Dog was showcased with three weapons: The Hanger, an SMG-like primary weapon which had at least 100 rounds; The Helper, a device that allowed the Guard Dog to carry health and ammo pickups to teammates; and a melee weapon titled The Hater, which would, upon use, cause the Guard Dog to bite an enemy. The Hater featured the ability to leap a short distance, similar to the Chargin' Targe or the Splendid Screen.

* The Guard Dog possesses two unique abilities. The first would allow players to "Sniff" the fallen weapon or ragdoll of a player, and be able to track them down after their respawn, regardless of whether they have changed classes, or are disguised. This is represented by an arrow located in the upper-left hand of the player's HUD.

** The Guard Dog's second unique ability is a cooperative taunt, which dispenses Jarate to a Sniper.

The Guard Dog on just about anything

The Guard Dog is an American born German Shepherd, who has a fondness for Spy's leg and things that squeak. When equipped with a mechanical rig and his own jaws of steel, he specializes in indirect support and supply of all his allies.

Due to the close range of his launcher and mouth, the Guard Dog relies entirely on his speed and tracking skills; through sniffing an intact corpse or weapon, he can then sniff out another player regardless of class change or disguise (assuming he doesn't die).

Additionally, he also comes equipped with a grabber attachment for his pack, which, upon touching a supply pack, allows him to aid his allies at the cost of being unarmed. When combined with his Jarate refilling taunt, the Guard Dog can act as a perfect assistant.
