'"Playing With Danger" is also the track heard from the various map introduction videos, and parts of it are used as audio cues for the Dueling Mini-Game, Casual Mode level ups and Main Menu alerts. A loop of its percussion-only part is used as the background on the main class selection screen, with an electric guitar playing a modified E minor harmonic blues scale; one note for each individual class.

Key: E Major
Time Signature: 4/4
Tempo: 96 BPM
Length: 4:03
Release Date: August 21, 2006
Update: Base Game
Composer: Mike Morasky

Likely for consistency, this song is based around the guitar melody of the main theme. Like the main theme, it uses the chords E Major and A Major. The guitar features much of the same, using an E Blues pentatonic scale that blends major and minor for a more unrestricted feel. However, this song has been slowed down relative to the main theme. This song also feattures a piano section, as well as another guitar part using either a tremolo or vibrato effect. The percussion on this track is also more traditional, focusing largely on military-style snare drum sounds. There is also a higher blend of woodwind instruments from this track.

Trivia

  • Like several of the tracks in the soundtrack, "Playing With Danger" uses the same chords and tune as the "Team Fortress 2 (Main Theme)". Both songs are also in the key of E Major, feature the same guitar part, and feature the use of the blues scale.
  • The track's arrangement and composition strongly recalls The Battle of Algiers by Ennio Morricone.
