I hope I didn't scare ya with my face-to-face MAN fighting!
The Demoman on common courtesy

The Scotsman's Skullcutter is a community-made melee weapon for the Demoman. It appears as a bloodied battle-axe with a wooden shaft and spiked handguard.

This weapon functions similarly to the Eyelander in that it has a large melee range and will decapitate enemies, but does not provide additional health or speed when an enemy player is killed. It is however, able to deal 20% extra damage and will receive random Critical hits. The axe also appears to have considerable weight, as it slows the Demoman down from 280 units/second (93% of normal speed) to 238 units/second (78% of normal speed). This is 8 units/second faster than a Heavy and 2 units/second slower than a Soldier, making him the second slowest class while the weapon is equipped. This item was released in the May 20, 2010 Patch as part of the second round of Contribute! content.

Trivia

  • The Scotsman's Skullcutter's speed penalty also decreases the speed of a charge, when used with the Chargin' Targe (reducing it from 750 units/second to 638). Furthermore, due to this slower charge speed, less actual distance is covered from a charge.
  • A Spy who is disguised as a Demoman with the Skullcutter equipped will not have his movement speed reduced by 15%.
  • Most of the Team Fortress Quake mod's classes, including the Demoman, used a battle-axe as their melee weapon.
  • This weapon was originally featured in Royzo's TF2 Mod emporium III.
  • Like the Eyelander, this weapon still has blood on it in the censored version of Team Fortress 2, whereas the Übersaw and Axtinguisher are clean and have no blood.
  • There is an unused axe located in the backpack files that resembles the Skullcutter. They share the same texture and general shape.
  • Heads claimed with the Scotsman's Skullcutter will not increase the damage potential of the Targe Bash.
