This article is for content released in the update. For the patch itself, see October 26, 2017 Patch.

Scream Fortress IX (or Scream Fortress 2017) was the event launched with the October 26, 2017 Patch. It introduced 17 Halloween contracts that are free for all players and can be accessed via the ConTracker. In addition to this, all maps from the previous Scream Fortress events are back.

Timeline

The event is scheduled to run from October 26, 2017, to November 8, 2017.

On October 27, 2017 the Case Global Unusual Effects were updated to draw from a pool of previous years' Halloween Unusual effects during the event.

On October 31, 2017 the Taunt Unusualifiers were updated to draw from a pool of previous years' Halloween Unusual effects during the event.

Contracts

This Scream Fortress event offers 17 Halloween Contracts. They are free Contracts and do not require a Jungle Inferno Campaign Pass. These Halloween Contracts are are different from the two previous Scream Fortress Merasmissions. Not only are they different in their objectives but they are different in being accessed through the ConTracker in a new section labeled "Halloween". However, when completed, these Halloween Contracts are counted as Merasmissions by the Soul Gargoyle.

Three of these Contracts are dedicated to defeating bosses, 7 to the released community maps of previous years, and 6 to the Valve-made maps. Additionally, there is a "Start" contract, which can be completed on any map within Casual Mode.

Trivia

  • This is the first Team Fortress 2 Halloween (Scream Fortress) event that has not shipped with a new map.
