Fish

Gentlemen, we are now beating people with fishes. How awesome is that? -- OluapPlayer (t) Howdy, pardner! 21:48, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Not right now. Be a gentle manne and put the poor cod down. -The Neotank ( | Talk) User The Neotank Signeotank.gif 21:51, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Well, we were already eating Sandviches that recover wounds from people shooting arrows through our head. Still pretty awesome! --Firestorm  User Firestorm Nuke Sig.jpg 21:51, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Let's make a Sandvich party for our new fish bats! Oh wait, we can't do parties anymore... -- OluapPlayer (t) Howdy, pardner! 21:54, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Yes you can, you just have to be sneaky >.> --Firestorm  User Firestorm Nuke Sig.jpg 23:01, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
I'm hoping it will slap on some sort of oil on you when your hit, causing mini crits, similar to jarate coating, but the weapon would do little or no damage. I know for sure I wouldn't want to get slapped by a disgusting/slimy fish! you guys have any other crazy ideas of what it could possibly do? I want to hear them! Guy 23:26, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Maybe have it similar to the bat, but have stink lines, and a low-power "bleed"? And a taunt that sees the scout slap them around the face with it, to a similar effect as The Sandman's taunt? Michael 22:24, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
Well here's what I hope it will be like. Video AbeX300 00:47, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
The guy at the end definitely got a fish kill. Humiliating... --smashdaisaku 07:13, 5 October 2010 (UTC)

So...

This is a bit disappointing. I do like the packs and all but...what ever happened to the Demoman, Heavy, Engineer, and Medic? AbeX300 21:49, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

They will mostly likely be released at a later date --Firestorm  User Firestorm Nuke Sig.jpg 21:49, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
It's confirmed, some items will "find there way in" in later updates. --SLBros 22:08, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

And a mystery one. Jordan 00:16, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
-> Listen here silly people. There is an error on the page desciribing all the polycount items. There are FIVE (5) packs, not FOUR (4).
May someone please fix this as I can not and greatly wish I could. That's all GIBLE has to say. The Original and The Best GIBLE 00:54, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

New pages for the items?

Or at least a mention on the respective class pages and weapon chart? --KazooieBanjo 00:25, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

As of yet, we don't know if these are going to be the names of the weapons, so making a page that would just be moved/deleted is pointless --Firestorm  User Firestorm Nuke Sig.jpg 00:26, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
Would it be worthwhile to put them in the weapon and hat charts, or no? -KazooieBanjo 00:27, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
No, for the same reason, we'd have to go back and change them all, and you never know exactly what Valve is going to do. --Firestorm  User Firestorm Nuke Sig.jpg 00:32, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
The new items should be revealed next week, the links have been made by nobody needs to make the pages for them yet because we'll have to go back and change links and page names. DO NOT MAKE THE PAGES UNTIL THE ITEM NAMES AND ATTRIBUTES ARE CONFIRMED Omnomnick 13:25, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Add Your Stats Assumptions Here

Just tell us what you assume the stats are for a weapon. Here is my assumption of the Black Box, and also compares to the Rocket Launcher! --The preceding unsigned comment was added by AbeX300 (talk) • contribs)

This is the talk page for the Polycount Update, not stat speculation. Please refrain from posting such theories. We'll have the actual stats soon enough. -- En Ex (talk) 05:15, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

The official name

Is it the Polycount Pack? Polycount Update? Polycount Pack Update? Polycount Contest? -- Nineaxis Duck Gib.png 04:20, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

For now I would go with Polycount Update and wait for word on Valve if they call it anything else. -04:22, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
It's referenced everywhere else as the Polycount Pack, not the Polycount Update. Also, sign your comments with ~~~~ please. -- Nineaxis Duck Gib.png 04:26, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, it's the Polycount Pack. Good point. -- Pilk (talk) 02:28, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Winner's background

AFAIK Larolaro is also the creator of the Homewrecker, and Progg of the Hound Dog? Anyone knows the others? --Kid Of The Century 11:07, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

Sydney Sleeper

Isn't the dart pack considered the ammo for the Sidney Sleeper? --AggieMegaMan

No, it would replace the rifle shells on the Sniper's vest --Firestorm  User Firestorm Nuke Sig.jpg 17:26, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
Though technically it's not a misc. considering it will likely always go on when a player is using the Sleeper, much like how the huntsman gives you arrows in your pouch. -- Mexican 00:39, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

So are we gonna get a page for this "Greentooth" misc. item?

Just wondering.

--ANormalUsername 01:41, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
Yes. -- Pilk (talk) 01:51, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Do not add links to the items.

There's plain no need. They'll just remain as red links until the items are released. Even then they might have differing names. Let this be a warning, if you add the links again then you will be blocked from editing for 3 days. -- Smashman... (ts) 17:45, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

When?

So does anybody know when these packs will actually be added into the game? HasturHasturHastur 16:08, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

Nope --Firestorm  User Firestorm Nuke Sig.jpg 16:14, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

The Saharan Spy

The spy is wearing sunglasses in every picture in the Saharan Spy. Am I the only one who thinks sunglasses are gonna be a new misc item for the Spy (or possibly an all-class item)?--Piippo 22:12, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

Part of the Fez. -- Smashman... (ts) 22:26, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
It is? Well, that's even better.--Piippo 22:56, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
Fezzes are cool. -- Vi3trice (talk) 23:20, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

Dart Pack

Neotank, I believe he is referring to the fact that the dart pack will replace the shells on the vest in the same way that the huntsman adds the arrows to your back. The creator never stated whether it was going to be a misc or attached to the Sleeper, I'm hoping for the latter. --Firestorm  User Firestorm Nuke Sig.jpg 21:45, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

(Wow, I'm late.) It's more likely a misc. item because A) It's easier to model that way and B) It's referred to as a "bonus," not part of the Sydney Sleeper. Nothing is definite until release, of course, so we just leave it as is. -The Neotank ( | Talk) User The Neotank Signeotank.gif 02:46, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
It said "Bonus!" as in Buy the Sydney Sleeper, and we'll throw in a free ammo(dart) pack with it! It is probably part of the sydney sleeper when equipped. Anonynja 00:15, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
The article can be changed on release if this is the case. -The Neotank ( | Talk) User The Neotank Signeotank.gif 01:23, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
We should find out soon enough, though I am leaning towards the replacement over misc. item theory. -- En Ex (talk) 01:51, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
Soon enough? You forget the curse of Valve Time too quickly, its seems! -The Neotank ( | Talk) User The Neotank Signeotank.gif 00:31, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

Split responsibilities

Since all of these weapons will be released at the same time, a good idea might be to lock the new weapon pages at first, and get a few people assigned to each page to edit that one the most, so there aren't a ton of cross-overs in the ensuing edit storm --Firestorm  User Firestorm Nuke Sig.jpg 23:56, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

Here's what I MAY work on getting information about: Mad Milk, Black Box, Power Jack, Bushwacka, and L'Étranger. So that just leaves 6 weapons for other people to find information about. AbeX300 01:05, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Or just wait for the pack to get released and dig through the GCF. -- En Ex (talk) 01:28, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Heh. And make videos of it the moment it gets released, like how I mostly do. AbeX300 05:10, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
I can do damage testing if the items are different to std weapons. Michael 16:56, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

Greentooth item picture?

I noticed that the picture of the Greentooth Misc. item I added was removed. For a start, it is part of the update, and even though it's not part of a pack it's still going to be released. The packs have pictures, so why not the picture of the misc item too? I know it's not the real icon too, but its the only pciture we have, just like the packs. The Russian and Italian pages feature the picture also. May I ask what the problem is and why it was removed? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Nbduckman (talk) • contribs) 21:20, 4 August 2010

The image was removed because it isn't actually in the game yet. We are trying not to add any content about specific items in the Polycount Pack until it is officially released (mostly because items usually have been changed a lot by the time they are released). The article you made on the pin was also deleted for the same reason, however, both your image and the article will be restored come the release of the Pack. (Also remember to add ~~~~ to the end of your post, it adds the time and date.) seb26 (talk) 23:25, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for clearing that up. My apologies. --Nbduckman 07:02, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

Robin Walker's rumors

Shouldn't this[2] interview with Robin Walker be added somewhere to this page, if not perhaps a rumor? PCGaming is good friends with VALVe, I don't think these would be faked or lies from Robin. IIRC, some PCGamer staff has Community weapons? Don't quote me on that; I was looking through the list a few days ago and I thought I remembered PCGamer people on there. Additions should probably include the rumor of a fifth pack that will arrive unannounced, and the apparent downside of the Eternal Reward (No facestabs.) EccentricalAce 06:54, 6 September 2010 (UTC)

Everything you mentioned is already on the page. The facestabs part was a joke. -- Pilk (talk) 07:01, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
You mean a sixth pack. And yeah no facestabs was a joke. --Jordan 00:17, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

Scout's Pack

Either the Mad Milk or the Short Stop is a Primary. They do for a set with the hat, so...

I am unable to edit it, so if anyone feels like it...

Mistah Phoenix 03:44, 1 October 2010 (UTC)

The Mad Milk is secondary --Firestorm 03:41, 5 October 2010 (UTC)

It is nice, all the weapons and hats and everything..

But £94 pounds? Really? JackIsASpy 15:56, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

It's going to be Medic's Polycount pack.

And how do I know this, gentlemen? Why, it's quite simple.

Average of $45,000 earned by the guys through royalties after first 2 weeks.

Should we add it in somewhere? Wow.  – Smashman (talk) 22:05, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

I saw that, it's madness --Firestorm 22:06, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
Madness? THIS. IS. a sign that we are not in the right TF2-contribution line of work, as said in the channel. — Wind 22:07, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
Pictogram cross.png Nah: Not relevant to the game and will spur loads of rage. Dunno what you guys think, but I say it's better off left to SPUF and Polycount. -The Neotank ( | Talk) User The Neotank Signeotank.gif 22:08, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

You're terrible at determining averages. The mean of the minimum and maximum values is not the average. -- Nineaxis Duck Gib.png 22:10, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
Hell, 45,000 isn't even the mean of the min and max. Where are you getting this number? -- Nineaxis Duck Gib.png 22:11, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
It said it in the Facepunch thread and the Polycount post. :(  – Smashman (talk) 22:23, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
There is no average stated in the Polycount post. -- Nineaxis Duck Gib.png 22:24, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

The BIG TITLE THING?  – Smashman (talk) 22:29, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

Touche. But their thing is based off the gamasutra article, which doesn't give an average. There's still a hole. -- Nineaxis Duck Gib.png 22:33, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

Source and Placement?

This line:

It was also hinted in a recent blog post that Valve are working on a new training map for a class, similar to the Soldier's training map released with the Mac update. It is currently unknown which class this map will be suited for.

Does this really need to be thrown in with the "Polycount Pack?" Would this information be better suited over in Training, or as an addendum to some trivia there? StarYoshi 18:15, 26 November 2010 (UTC)

New Pack coming out.

Source AbeX300 18:29, 16 December 2010 (UTC)

Well, if it is in fact the Medic Polycount pack, I'd have to say that, according to the image on that page (link), it'd have to be the first 3 items on the left side (going down vertically). The syringe gun, the needle-looking melee weapon and the first aid helmet. Frankly...I can't wait! :D 404 User Not Found 18:34, 16 December 2010 (UTC)

Sydney Sleeper Poster

I think that the poster for the sydney sleeper should be removed. I doubt it was the creator who spammed "StuffStuffStuff" all over it. Steel Fisted Lemon 13:57, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

Yes it was the creator. -- OluapPlayer (t) Howdy, pardner! 13:58, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

Items submitted as a pack, but only one item from the pack got in

Like the Engy's spurs and the Jag. Should we put them on this page someplace? Both were submitted as part of a pack, but only the one item got in. Balladofwindfishes 05:49, 7 July 2011 (PDT)

If they're not part of what the game calls Polycount Pack, then nope, or maybe in trivia — Wind 17:58, 9 July 2011 (PDT)
I'm gonna say no to a section, yes to trivia on their own pages. No need to acknowledge sets on this page that aren't actually in the game. SilverHammer 17:58, 9 July 2011 (PDT)
Yea, I was thinking that also. They would just seem awkward in the article, which is why I asked. I couldn't find a place to put them without it looking really forced. Balladofwindfishes 17:59, 9 July 2011 (PDT)

Item set bonuses

Now that item set bonuses are gone, should we just delete the part about item set bonuses? Say that they used to have bonuses? What should we do? Wamesy (talk) 00:11, 11 July 2013 (PDT)
