Hi Everyone! Blake here! I made this page.  Let's hope it stays up and gets more info added to it.  Here you can talk about what these new style changes are and what they do to the hats, how you change them, the pictures of the style changes, etc. It's a bit of work, but I'm sure that we can make this page shine.  So, let's go! Spudboy here. Is anyone else getting the texture missing checkerboard for the "garish and overbearing" style on the scotsman's stovepipe? [[User:Spudboy555|Spudboy555]] 02:52, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

:I don't have that hat, but I'll ask around. (PS don't forget the 4 ~ at the end for your signature). [[User:Fate Soul Blake|Fate Soul Blake]] 02:50, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

::Yeah, it's broken for everyone. -[[User:Shine|<font color="#666666">'''Shine'''</font>]] 03:08, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

I've added all the necessary information. A better system IMO would be to have a table, but let's wait until the paint preview images are updated. [[User:Thingy Person|Thingy Person]] 11:53, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

:I agree.  I would love to make a table for all the new styles of the hats, but until the new images are uploaded, I can't do it.  Once they are up we'll get right on it! [[User:Fate Soul Blake|Fate Soul Blake]] 16:48, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

::We already have images for the Stovetop old painted style. Other than the couple of new paint added since dec 3rd, I don't see why we would need to redo them all, unless there's been substantial change to the texture or something [[User:Balladofwindfishes|Balladofwindfishes]] 19:52, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

We also need to discuss how to even change styles or if it's even possible.  I'm clicking around and pressing every button to try and change the style of my Googly Gazer in the Loadout section but nothing's happening. :Nevermind, I figured it out.  It's Manage Items > Backpack > *Click on the Hat* > Set Style.  [[User:Vaporeon|<font color=#318CE7>Vaporeon</font>]] [[File:User_Vaporeon_Sig.png|31px|link=User_talk:Vaporeon]] 21:11, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

== Pyromancer Paint Styles ==

So I've heard reports that the Pyromancer hat has paint styles.  Where you either plaint it in the style that it is now, or you paint the whole hat/skull.  I just want to confirm this fact before I post it here. [[User:Fate Soul Blake|Fate Soul Blake]] 02:54, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

:Yes, it has 3 styles. The original paint style, a style that fully paints the skull, and a "fancy" style that adds elaborate face paint all over the hat [[User:Balladofwindfishes|Balladofwindfishes]] 14:49, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

== Quote ==

I added a quick quote that I feel like it fits the page.  [http://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/e/ea/Scout_goodjob02.wav That's what I'm talking about!] by the Scout.  It is just a quick quote but hey, it might stick.  Feel free to pitch some new quotes around here to see if we could come up with an even better one. == Styles template ==

There definitely needs to be a new template for Styles, and a new section for hats/misc items affected by this, maybe something like this:

== Style variants ==

{{main|Styles}}

{{hatnote|<small>{{Lang

| en = Mouseover cells to preview the images on a dark background.

}}</small>}}

{| class="wikitable grid" style="font-size:{{lang

  }}; font:transparent; line-height:125%; margin-bottom:0.5em;"

|-

| align="center" class="styleCell" style="width:100px;" | [[File:Original {{BASEPAGENAME}}.png|85x85px]]

| align="center" class="styleCell" style="width:100px;" | [[File:Full Color {{BASEPAGENAME}} Paint.png|85x85px]]

| align="center" class="styleCell" style="width:100px;" | [[File:Stylish {{BASEPAGENAME}} Paint.png|85x85px]]

|-

! {{Styles|Original}}

! {{Styles|Full Color Paint}}

! {{Styles|Stylish Paint}}

|}<noinclude>

What do you guys think? --[[User:Fortress|Fortress]] 23:24, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

:I think that that layout would be great.  We would need one more column for "other styles" for the robotic eye that the Googly Gazer has. But other than that, it would work! [[User:Fate Soul Blake|Fate Soul Blake]] 02:36, 16 April 2011 (UTC)

:Could be a little premature, but I'd say that the template needs to specify if it's a "paint" or a "model" style.--[[User:Kid Of The Century|Kid Of The Century]] 14:35, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

== I think we need to reconsider how we layout styles on the hat pages ==

Right now, we have the hat info, then paint for the default style, then paint for the styles, then we have lots of text, then way at the bottom we have, in the gallery, some images of the default styles. It just seems all over the place. We should really, especially with a possible large influx of styles coming soon, consider adding images and names of styles directly in the hat infobox, under the default image of the hat. Because right now, the images of styles are messily scattered all over the hat pages, and a hat like the [[Troublemaker's Tossle Cap]] is kind of a mess in the gallery because of the large number of styles. [[User:Balladofwindfishes|Balladofwindfishes]] 22:39, 19 May 2011 (UTC)

:{{C|Support}}. It just isn't right to put them down there in the gallery, we should do the way it was before, with a table showing the styles. {{n}}[[File:User_Ohyeahcrucz_Sig.png|20px|sub]] [[User:Ohyeahcrucz|<span style="text-shadow:blue 0px 0px 0px;font-size:13px;font-family: Tf2 Build"><font color="blue">Ohyeahcrucz]]</font></span>  <span style="font-size:10px;font-weight:bold;font-family: helvetica"><font color="black"><nowiki>[</nowiki>[[User_talk:Ohyeahcrucz|T]]<nowiki>][</nowiki>[[Special:Contributions/Ohyeahcrucz|C]]<nowiki>]</nowiki></font></span> 22:41, 19 May 2011 (UTC)

:Was thinking of using tabs for it. :3 — [[User:WindPower|<span style="font-weight:bold;">Wind</span>]] 23:11, 19 May 2011 (UTC)

::Yesh. Tabs. :3 [[User:Maggosh|mag]][[User talk:Maggosh|gosh]] 23:12, 19 May 2011 (UTC)

:::Tabs would work until Pie Tony figures out a way to make 25 different ways to paint the Blighted Beak :). I guess we'd have to make sure the tabs worked for styles up to like 6 or 7. Valve recommends only 2 to 3 styles per hat for community contributors, so we should maybe go with double that. [[User:Balladofwindfishes|Balladofwindfishes]] 23:14, 19 May 2011 (UTC)

== Small problem with backwards ballcap ==

The backwards ballcap style names aren't appearing correctly. I would fix it myself, but I don't know how. The style table on the backwards ballcap page is wrong too. [[User:Mpnov|Mpnov]] 21:21, 6 December 2011 (PST)

:I do not know what it is shown in the game but the [http://git.optf2.com/schema-tracking/plain/Team%20Fortress%202%20Client%20Schema client schema] says the style name string is at '#TF_ScoutBackwardsCap_Style0', but no such string exists in [[File:Tf_english.txt|tf_english.txt]], so the wiki is just displaying that instead I guess [[user:seb26|<small style="background:#f9f9f9;border:1px solid #0070FF;padding:0em 0.5em;color:#000;-webkit-box-shadow:2px 1px 1px #8BBEFF;">'''seb26'''</small>]] 23:12, 6 December 2011 (PST)

::I think this was fixed today. however, the style page still shows it wrong. [[User:Mpnov|Mpnov]] 15:10, 9 December 2011 (PST)

Wouldn't they be better suited to showing paint? The difference between the middle two styles isn't really clear without paint. [[User:Balladofwindfishes|Balladofwindfishes]] 17:05, 5 August 2012 (PDT)
