: Support Definitely agree. I've made some progress on making the RED and BLU pages more consistent with one another (and will continue to do so). If the RED page is Featured Article material, then it follows that the BLU one should be too, since they're basically identical. It also makes a lot of sense, since RED and BLU are some of the most fundamental hallmarks of TF2 - they should both be featured equally, especially since the game favours neither side. I think that it's time Scout was added to the featured articles rotation. Probably not a very contentious suggestion overall, but I'm just going to outline everything quickly so that we're properly following the guidelines here. I'd also be curious to see if there's anything in particular others wanted to pinpoint, before it is potentially accepted into the rotation.

Will outline some similar info to the most recent nomination (made for Pyro), since it's largely relevant here as well. Obviously the nine classes of TF2 are hugely important articles to this wiki, and should be some of our most forward-facing pages when users land on the Main page. There are only two classes not currently in the featured rotation - Scout and Demoman. With regards to the featured pages for other classes:

:3. Check that any reference to item sets mentioned in the page that are not Polycount Pack item sets are clearly so indicated. (my <u>March 2</u> edit may have fixed the only instance)

:4. None of the items under Trivia conform to Trivia Style (about content not added to the game); however, exception can be granted if other editors think so, because of the notability of the competition, and state here. Otherwise, IMO, the Trivia should be deleted before FA.

:5. Is the history of Polycount Pack-released items complete? Would someone check and report here whether all items from this contest that were released into the game are covered in the article. They probably are, but a FA nomination should be double-checked for completeness.

Very unique page, well-written, and has a lot of information and images on it. Each contents of the page are really well explained and as well listing to other areas of the Wiki. I also think that the "Mann vs. Machine" featured article on the main page are quite outdated, especially as it states "In the newly added Mann vs. Machine game mode...", so we probably need something else for that. :x I definitely agree that it's surprisingly detailed for a new article - however I personally don't think it's really 'featured article' material. To me, it's just a standard cosmetic page that has a lot of styles for every class available. My reasons to nominate this article are the following:

Halloween Spells (2012-2014) for October's article?
+
* The article is well written
 +
* Gives players useful information about the weapon
 +
* The media used is very informative and is properly made, as expected
 +
* Introduce the weapon to newer players

Since the popularity of the now-discontinued Scream Fortress IV weapon/cosmetic/voice spells have been slightly rising as of late (probably due to SF2020 coming soon and the community not having all that much to talk about aside from it), I'd choose it as October's article due to it being:
+
With nothing more to say, I would like to see this article featured on the front page since is a very well written article and the weapons itself is cool and interesting to use, even tho I don't play Engineer that much.
*- Mostly perfect from a content perspective.

*- Nicely presentable to anyone unaware of the subject in question.

*- In-season.

And also bringing more attention to something that is, quite strangely, unknown to most of the community (despite the aforementioned rise in attention).

:: I am inclined to support, but I need to make a normal critical review for quality and currency.
+
Hightower is one of the most popular maps and may be the most popular Payload Race map. I say we nominate it, because we already have 2fort.
:: But, remember, the criteria for FA is quality and depth of useful content. While it is true what Tark says that the spells no longer drop, people do encounter them, so they are relevant, and if actually increasingly popular, then the topic is notable.
+
----Slimyboi500 (talk) 02:49, 13 January 2024 (UTC)
:: But still, does it have the quality and completeness for FA? A quick skim shows some update is needed, at least. The thing I am never sure of is whether the effect safely goes intact with the item when Traded or Marketed. If the effect does survive trades and selling, this needs to be clearly stated, and would add to the usefulness of the page.

:: I would add that not only is the focus of FA quality, FA focus is not topicality. Topicality is for Trending Topics, IIUC, (but with the requested improvement).

:: <span style="font-family: Impact"><font color="db9c1f"> M I K A D O 282 </font></span><span style="font-family: Arial "><font color="00ff00"> <small>⊙</small>⊙⊙⊙⊙<small>⊙ ⊙⊙  ⊙⊙</small></font></span> (talk) (Help Wanted!) 02:56, 23 September 2020 (UTC)

Pictogram plus.png Support Given that a merge proposal has been made regarding the RED and BLU articles, I think it appropriate to revisit the FA status of RED and BLU. The argument for merge is that the articles are redundant. A counter-argument is that that very redundancy is fundamental to the themes of the articles. If the two articles are intentionally so similar, and if the decision falls against the merge, then BLU should have at least a brief, if long overdue, stint as featured article if only to complete the intended symmetry. Pictogram plus.png Support Definitely agree. Scout

 • The Scout article follows the same format and contains all the comprehensive information one would expect.
 • It's well written, properly styled and very much a stable page.
 • It has all the expected referential and informational media, which has been used in an appropriate manner.
 • And finally, it's well-linked to various categories and pages around the wiki.

Let me know if there's anything within the article that could potentially be cleaned up or expanded, I'd be more than happy to add to the improvement effort if needed. Epsilonal (talk) 07:47, 24 October 2022 (UTC)

I believe the last nomination for Scout was in 2014 (which I found here in Archive 5. Don't know if it just flew under the radar, but I did see that the Featured article candidate template remains on its talk page. Not sure how long it has been there for, so I figured a discussion would be useful here. Epsilonal (talk) 07:51, 24 October 2022 (UTC)

Nominating this page separately to Scout just in case opinions differ, but will largely be following the same line of reasoning.

Demoman is probably also overdue to be added to the featured articles rotation. Probably not a very contentious suggestion overall, but I'm just going to outline everything quickly so that we're properly following the guidelines here. I'd also be curious to see if there's anything in particular others wanted to pinpoint, before it is potentially accepted into the rotation.

 • The media used is very informative and is properly made, as expected
 • Introduce the weapon to newer players

With nothing more to say, I would like to see this article featured on the front page since is a very well written article and the weapons itself is cool and interesting to use, even tho I don't play Engineer that much.

Hightower

Hightower is one of the most popular maps and may be the most popular Payload Race map. I say we nominate it, because we already have 2fort.
