Should the Golden Frying Pan be featured on the list?

Yay or nay? User Gabrielwoj Signature Icon.png - User Gabrielwoj Signature 1.pngUser Gabrielwoj Signature 2.png - User Gabrielwoj Signature 3.png 17:56, 11 July 2019 (UTC)

Well, someone said no, so I removed the section for "Golden Frying Pan" that was featured on the Australium's Gallery section. User Gabrielwoj Signature Icon.png - User Gabrielwoj Signature 1.pngUser Gabrielwoj Signature 2.png - User Gabrielwoj Signature 3.png 00:35, 12 July 2019 (UTC)

If you still wanted an answer, it depends on what you define as an Australium weapon. Is an Australium weapon: 1. A weapon that has Australium on it 2. A weapon that is obtained from the MvM tours.

If 1: It should count saxxy and golden wrench as well as the golden frying pan. If 2: Only include GFP.

I'd go with "Australium weapons" are weapons you can get in MvM Tours. More information regarding Australium-based weapons are on the Australium page. I was just confused due to the previous revision of the page containing pictures of the Golden Frying Pan on the gallery. It has been removed now. As the one who did the template a lot, I think that the one who did this template has the intention about What weapon are available in Australium prefix. That's why I think he excluded Golden Frying Pan and Golden Wrench. User Hinaomi Hinaomi-sig.png Rikka Takanashi (talk) • (contributions) 23:56, 12 July 2019 (UTC)

Should the Golden Pan be on this list (part 2)

Re-thinking it now, it may be better if the Golden Frying Pan is listed here. Although technically not an Australium weapon itself (no "australium" prefix) it might be something that people are looking for as it's an MvM reward.

I support, from my data there's also like a 99.999% chance that the golden pan is an aussie drop when it's rolled as otherwise we should have seen an aussie + pan drop by now. But also the casual player perceives it as an aussie so they would expect it to be here too. Jh34ghu43gu (talk) 20:25, 29 November 2023 (UTC)
I support this too. Just like Jh34ghu43gu said, the casual player perceives the Golden Pan as an Australium Weapon, furthermore the Golden Pan should be on the list of Australium Weapons. And, as you just said, even if the Golden Pan doesn't use the Australium prefix, is still a drop a lot of players look for. Also, is a weapon that can only be obtain from MvM, so yes, it should count as an aussie. I support the Golden Pan being on the list. BIOS Gold Translator 21:33, 29 November 2023 (UTC)
Pictogram info.png  I fully support the idea of adding the GFP to the Australium table, BUT in this case, I'd suggest in renaming the template table altogether, to something around "Two Cities MvM Drops". This is because if we have to be constant on what defines a "Golden" weapon. If we say that the GFP is an Australium, then we need to add the Golden Wrench to the table too. Hence my suggestion on changing the name, then at least we can exclude the Golden Wrench from the equation. YossefTalk 06:07, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
As somebody who owns every single one of these weapons, Golden Frying Pan included, I've always personally considered the pan to be an "Australium weapon," in terms of "incredibly rare item drop from the Australium pool," even if it doesn't have the Australium prefix. I support adding the Golden Frying Pan to the table, also. — User ThatHatGuy Signature Icon.png 11:39, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
I don't think we'd need to rename the table, as it would have to go from "Australium weapons table" to "Rare MvM drops from tours of Advanced or higher". Australiums drop on Advanced or higher difficulty tours, so we'd need to include that, but somehow exclude the Botkillers that are also classified as "rare". Pretty sure the Prof ks fabricators are also classified as a "rare" drop, so just keeping the current name is best.

I suggest going with the title "Australium drops from tours of Advanced or higher", this way the users cannot be confused or mislead with Botkiller weapons or any other drops. The table name is being self-explanatory. Plus this way, we can exclude the Golden Wrench (and arguably the Saxxy) YossefTalk 14:22, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
I dunno. Some Australium weapons are also Festivized, which isn't the case of the Pan. Additionally, the Gold Pan received its own page despite the other weapons having them on their main pages, though this could be for the fact that they Gold Pan includes a random sheen effect, the gold statue effect, etc. If we do add it, however, I would include a † next to the name, then, include a section below stating that it's not exactly an Australium but can be found instead of Australium Weapons, kinda like this. Why bother with a name change at all then? "Possible Australium weapons" and "Australium drops from tours of Advanced or higher" still describe each weapon to be Australium, all it will do is make for a name that could possibly be interpreted as "there are Australium drops from tours lower than Advanced but they're not listed here". Keeping the current name also has the benefit of not needing a new translation for it. I don't think a note to specify it's not the same as an Australium weapon is entirely necessary.
