In the future, please refrain from adding "Tournament Medal" to every medal string. Old tournament medal strings used to have "Tournament Medal" before every one because of how the old pages were structured; but as of the revamp to all-encompassing tournament pages rather than a page every season, none of the strings display that prefix. There is a "Tournament Medal" string for the tournament itself, to match the page title, and then each medal string should only have the actual medal name, as written in tf_english.txt. That simplifies the strings that are displayed on the tournament medal page, and makes it easier to read than four or more medals that all say they're tournament medals. You know that already, so it becomes redundant and clogs up the item box for something that isn't even represented like that in the game. -[[User:ThatHatGuy|ThatHatGuy]] ([[User talk:ThatHatGuy|talk]]) 22:59, 27 March 2019 (UTC)

::If you absolutely need to use "Tournament Medal" strings for some reason, add them as additional handlers to the existing string. You can do that by turning the string into something like "australian hightower highjinx donor | tournament medal - australian hightower highjinx donor". Hi. I was using the current page description as a reference, I checked all the latest edits after the June 25th Patch, and, the "but" was already there. None of the new edits really modified the description for the 1st place medal, so I thought nothing was changed. Later, I went to check older edits, and apparently, [https://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/index.php?title=Tournament_Medal_-_Cap_that_Cup&diff=2424537&oldid=2424536 the "but" was added way before] for some reason. I don't know why it was added so early, as it didn't reflect the description for the item during that time. That's why I confused it. I know it wasn't you that edited, but in case who edited it is reading this, next time, it's better to update the description only after it's really changed in tf_english.txt. Hello, Goodjob!

Welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Official Wiki!

Here are a few links to get you started:

  • If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
  • If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style guide.
  • Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
    • To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
    • You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
  • When posting on an article's Talk page you should add four tilde symbols or ~~~~ onto the end.
    • This will add a signature and timestamp to your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
    • Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
    • When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
    • You can use the Signature Icon.png button in the editing toolbar to quickly add a signature.
  • If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for a staff member.
  • If you have trouble with anything on the wiki or you're not sure about a specific topic, feel free to join the IRC.
  • You can also customize your user page if you like.
    • When uploading images for use on your user page, please add the prefix User Goodjob to the file's name.
    • Additionally, if you would like to add any self-made content to the wiki, please do so by adding the prefix User:Goodjob/ to the page title when you create the page.

Once again, welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Wiki!

Cześć, nice work

Hello and welcome to the Wiki from my side!

Nice to see something going on the Polish section, I looked through a few of your edits and have a few (very minor) points to note:

  • When you're translating a link to an external page in English, add {{lang icon|en}} at the end of the link so people know it leads to an English page. This template produces: angielski
  • I guess you just forgot it on this edit, but always add "/pl" to the end of categories.
  • You forgot to translate the update history on the page linked above.

That's it already! Keep up the good work and have fun :) — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk | Contribs} 04:39, 16 October 2016 (PDT)

Thank you so much for telling me on those things, I didn't really know about them. It sure helped me that you noted those. Sometimes I miss on things, because I always try to finish up a translation, and then immediately translate another page, to make as much changes on the wiki as I can. This doesn't mean I don't check on what I wrote, I always check for errors, but sometimes I just miss on few minor sentances or forget to change the formatting [e.g add the "/pl" at the end].

Goodjob (talk) 04:55, 16 October 2016 (PDT)

You're very welcome! We all do mistakes, that's beyond question :) Also, considering those were your first edits you already performed great compared to the average contributor, so just go on. — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk | Contribs} 05:11, 16 October 2016 (PDT)

Non Purchaseable translation

Heyo, If you need to translate that one specific string on the non purchase items page, you have to add a /pl string onto the template here: Template:Storenonpurchasable. It's near the top so it shouldn't be too hard to miss. Ashes (talk) 05:34, 12 December 2016 (PST)

Changes to Nostromo Napalmer Page

I was wondering why you keep reverting my temporary page change? I am including the panic attack to the crafting section because you can craft it, even though it isn't a pyro primary.

Hey!

Hey, thanks for support. I am really honor that I got a comment from you. It really does! So, you said I'd suppost to use Show Preview right? Is that mean It's because I editting terrible, or It's just some suggetion? If that mean I editting terribly, please tell me what's my problem is.

Because I can't keep editting like that If I'm doing something really wrong right now.

P.S: I can see that you're edit so many stuff on this wiki site, Hope you get Wiki Cap soon. :) user:Dydwk474 16:36, 11 June 2018 (UTC)

It's not that your editting is terrible - it's just that every edit is logged - and it's better if instead of doing 5 small edits, you make 1 edit - everything is better organised in logs, and you can easily see the difference between edits, by checking that 1 big edit instead of 5 different ones.

"Bugs should be informative, clear, and concise. All Bug sections are styled as bullet points, not paragraphs. If the bug you are writing about seems to have a particularly long description, such as describing how to perform a bug, consider summarizing it briefly and linking to a source with more relevant information."

Tak więc też masz tutaj wyjaśnione, dlaczego usunąłem twoje zmiany.Goodjob (talk) 16:01, 27 June 2018 (UTC)

Good job Goodjob.

I've seen some of your recent image uploads. They look pretty good. A few things here and there could be improved, but nothing really major (some facial flexes, for instance, or that some images doesn't show much of the class). The good thing is that we now have proper class gallery pictures that were previously missing. The Deadbeats pics are pretty neato. User Gabrielwoj Signature 1.pngUser Gabrielwoj Signature 2.png - User Gabrielwoj Signature 3.png 15:17, 22 January 2019 (UTC)

Thank you! And yes, some images might not show much of the class, because I want them to show an item more closely (such as medals, most of which dont have any images in the gallery). As for flexes - well, surely they could be improved, and I hope that with time it'll improve, but that is to be seen by the end of adding all missing gallery pictures, whether the quality stayed the same, degraded or improved. Goodjob (talk) 17:03, 22 January 2019 (UTC)
Oh yes, I've noticed, as it was more common in items on the shoulder and such. Well, keep it up. You can always check images already uploaded on the Wiki for references. User Gabrielwoj Signature 1.pngUser Gabrielwoj Signature 2.png - User Gabrielwoj Signature 3.png 17:19, 22 January 2019 (UTC)

I think your recent image contributions are worthy for a Wikiachievement. They look pretty nice and attention to quality was indeed thought of.

Although, despite being a minor thing, I'd say to try setting your HLMV to Higher Resolution Textures, right now you are using Medium Textures since I can see Engi's and Heavy's emblems somewhat pixelated. Other than that, everything's good. User Gabrielwoj Signature 1.pngUser Gabrielwoj Signature 2.png - User Gabrielwoj Signature 3.png 14:47, 25 January 2019 (UTC)

Thanks! As for the texture quality, i'm 999% positive that i'm already using max texture settings, since my graphic options are equivelant to those that I use ingame (and I use ultra graphics config). But I can look into it. Goodjob (talk) 14:49, 25 January 2019 (UTC)
Alright. I've dropped some info over my Talk page. As for the config in-game, it doesn't matter on HLMV, they both operate separately, I have my HLMV with full high settings while my TF2 at the lowest. About this image, have you used competitive_winnerstate_idle animation for it? Because if so, this animation moves the "medal" bone to an incorrect place, go check it out another animation and you'll see what I'm talking about (the medal was supposed to be on the other side of the vest). And... there's also some white background behind Sniper's glasses. User Gabrielwoj Signature 1.pngUser Gabrielwoj Signature 2.png - User Gabrielwoj Signature 3.png 17:14, 3 February 2019 (UTC)

If you absolutely need to use "Tournament Medal" strings for some reason, add them as additional handlers to the existing string. You can do that by turning the string into something like "australian hightower highjinx donor | tournament medal - australian hightower highjinx donor". This will make it so both strings use the same text, without breaking existing links to the string. -ThatHatGuy (talk) 01:19, 29 March 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for telling, and again, sorry for the trouble! Goodjob (talk) 13:43, 29 March 2019 (UTC)

About Cap that Cup's description.

Hi. I was using the current page description as a reference, I checked all the latest edits after the June 25th Patch, and, the "but" was already there. None of the new edits really modified the description for the 1st place medal, so I thought nothing was changed. Later, I went to check older edits, and apparently, the "but" was added way before for some reason. I don't know why it was added so early, as it didn't reflect the description for the item during that time. That's why I confused it. I know it wasn't you that edited, but in case who edited it is reading this, next time, it's better to update the description only after it's really changed in tf_english.txt.
