Hello, King Dirty Harry!

Welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Official Wiki!

Here are a few links to get you started:

  • If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
  • If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style guide.
  • Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
    • To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
    • You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
  • When posting on an article's Talk page you should add four tilde symbols or ~~~~ onto the end.
    • This will add a signature and timestamp to your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
    • Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
    • When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
    • You can use the Signature Icon.png button in the editing toolbar to quickly add a signature.
  • If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for a staff member.
  • If you have trouble with anything on the wiki or you're not sure about a specific topic, feel free to join the IRC.
  • You can also customize your user page if you like.
    • When uploading images for use on your user page, please add the prefix User King Dirty Harry to the file's name.
    • Additionally, if you would like to add any self-made content to the wiki, please do so by adding the prefix User:King Dirty Harry/ to the page title when you create the page.

Once again, welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Wiki!

Show Preview + translating

Pictogram info.png Please make use of the Show preview button. It gives you a preview of the edit you are making, allowing you to perfect your changes before you save the page. You can edit the whole article by clicking the edit button at the top of the page, which is preferable to editing multiple sections consecutively.

Also to note, when translating: Please translate the page prior to creating the page. This is to avoid clutter from making 1 page + 17 small translations into just 1 page creation with translations done. Ashes (talk) 12:07, 5 December 2016 (PST)

Goede dag!

Hello King Dirty Harry and welcome to the TF wiki from my side, great to see some action on the Dutch side of the wiki!

I reviewed your most recent page creation and found some mistakes. Therefore I compiled a short list that might help you to prevent those mistakes in the future:

  • Please at first read Help:Language translation, it should explain you some more basics to what you already know and do.
  • You sadly didn't translate the links in your articles yet. Please do so by changing for example the English [[Mann Co. Store]] to the Dutch version [[Mann Co. Store/nl|Mann Co.-winkel]], that means you basically just add "/nl" behind the existing English link and then after the pipe ("|") you add the translation to be displayed. If you want to translate items, it's way easier to change [[Fire Axe]] to {{item link|Fire Axe}} instead of [[Fire Axe/nl|Vuurbijl]], which would be the same. Both produce: Vuurbijl.
  • Please also translate the quote on the beginning of the page and add the parameter "|en-sound=yes" to the end, so the user sees that the quote is only available in English, not in Dutch.
  • Don't forget to translate a few parameters in the item infobox, those are especially "used-by", "released", "item-kind" and "prefix".
  • Always use the official translation, for example for the style "No Hat", use "Geen hoed".

That's it! I hope it's not too overwhelming, those all are just minor things, you already did pretty great! Keep up the good work and have fun contributing! :) Feel free to ask anything under this post, on my talk page or in our IRC channel, please note that despite I've edited/added some of the strings in your edits, I don't speak Dutch. — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk | Contribs} 12:02, 6 December 2016 (PST)

Note: You can see my correction to your most recent translation here. :) — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk | Contribs} 12:03, 6 December 2016 (PST)

Dit hierboven geldt nog steeds, maar denk eraan om <nowki>[[itemname|Template:Dictionary/items/itemname]]</nowiki> te gebruiken en niet [[Nederlandse voorwerpnaam]] te gebruiken. Je kan kijken naar één van mijn vertalingen van een cosmetisch voorwerp om te kijken hoe dingen normaal vertaald zijn.
