Here are a few links to get you started:

  • If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
  • If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style guide.
  • Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
    • To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
    • You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
  • When posting on an article's Talk page you should add four tilde symbols or ~~~~ onto the end.
    • This will add a signature and timestamp to your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
    • Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
    • When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
    • You can use the Signature Icon.png button in the editing toolbar to quickly add a signature.
  • If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for a staff member.

  • You can also customize your user page if you like.
    • When uploading images for use on your user page, please add the prefix User Memayz to the file's name.
    • Additionally, if you would like to add any self-made content to the wiki, please do so by adding the prefix User:Memayz/ to the page title when you create the page.

Editing other languages pages

Greetings. If you just add untranslated phrases in articles in other languages and call to others to translate it, is better to not edit those pages (you can still fix broken links, templates, etc). · Ashe (talk) 04:36, 22 May 2021 (UTC)

Hello. Would it be better to fix the issues such as broken links and templates but leave it in English, leave it blank, or...? Memayz (talk) 14:32, 22 May 2021 (UTC)
Most of the templates uses translation switching by using Template:Dictionary (e.g., Template:common string, Template:item link), so there shouldn't be problems. The problem is, if your edits of missing parts/fixes needs some phrases to be translated (for example, "Concept art for the XYZ item" in spanish, which is "Diseño conceptual del objeto XYZ"), is better to not fix/add those missing parts. · Ashe (talk) 16:39, 22 May 2021 (UTC)
Got it. Memayz (talk) 16:46, 22 May 2021 (UTC)

Categories

Hello! Please stop adding these categories ("Tournament medal images" and "Cosmetic images") to painted images. Its not needed :p Mgpt (talk) 01:19, 2 June 2021 (UTC)

Ok. Memayz (talk) 01:21, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
Alright, I believe I undid all of them. Very truly sorry to any editors monitoring Recent changes, for the spam. Memayz (talk) 01:54, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
It also applies to the other files you edited. An administrator will undo the other files soon, probably. Sorry for the confusion :/ Mgpt (talk) 07:03, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
I'm confused now. Haven't I been categorizing tournament medals as images of tournament medals? What did do wrong? Is the category defunct, should it not include backpack images, does it include painted variants or not? Are painted variants of medals supposed to be tagged as cosmetic images? I'm all-around confused about what I did wrong. I would really like to know as to not waste my own time and other's. Memayz (talk) 13:58, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
Alright, yeah, most Backpack icons and Item icons are indeed usually under Cosmetic images so it should be fine to recategorize them.
That said, painted variants should only ever be categorized as Painted item images as they're solely used by templates. — Tark lm(pt-br) 17:49, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
Okay, so how I'm interpreting this all is that it's okay for me to go an add tournament medal images (backpack icons, HLMV screenshots with the classes wearing them, the RED and BLU variants etc.) to Category: Tournament medal images and Category:Cosmetic images, just not the painted variants of the medals. Oh yeah, and what about painted variants? Do they count as Category:Item skin images ? Thanks, Memayz (talk) 17:55, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
Icons, screenthots, etc.: Yes.
Painted variants: Do not touch them, they're correctly categorized already.
This advice only applies to tournament medal images. Please open a proper discussion before doing such changes in the future. — Tark lm(pt-br) 19:53, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
Alright, thanks for your help. Memayz (talk) 22:39, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
