Hammer Editor

Valve Hammer Editor, formerly known as Worldcraft and commonly named Hammer, is used by level designers to create new maps for games such as Team Fortress 2, Garry's Mod, and Counter-Strike.

How do I download Hammer?

  • 1. Open the Steam client.
  • 2. Go to the category Tools under the Library.
  • 3. Find and double-click on the Source SDK item.
  • 4. Read over the dialog box and click Download and Install / Next to continue.
  • 5. The Source SDK will then be downloaded to your computer via Steam.

Alternatively, browse to your Steam's download location, then go to Steam\SteamApps\common\Team Fortress 2\bin and open Hammer.exe.
