The Krankensage is an experimental melee weapon for the Medic that was being play-tested by Valve after it appeared in the Fancy vs. Nasty Update. It resembles a darker Bonesaw enhanced with a bar on the frame that seems to fill with team-colored ÜberCharge fluid (compare the Vita-Saw), and sharper teeth. The existence of this weapon was first discovered in the December 17, 2010 Patch when the cp_degrootkeep.lst file in the tf\reslists folder was added;

Trivia
- Krankensage roughly means "saw of the sick" in German (the correct form would be Krankensäge, with an umlaut on the a).
