Deciphering Some Bombinomicon Responses

Okay, I uploaded the Bombinomicon responses for the 2013 Scream Fortress event, and I need some help figuring out what it is saying on a few lines. On the "crazy nuts guys" response, I cannot for the life of me figure out what it says before that, the best I could figure out was "I did nothing wrong" but I know for sure that is not what is said. The other line I had some problems with is the Quebec line on the part is says "I've got to blank the small stuff."

I think it says "short the small stuff" but I'm not entirely sure about that. Also, another one I can't understand is the sixth response in the Unknown Responses table, where he prays to God, and it says "Everybody, take at me" and I know for sure he doesn't say that. Another one is in the one where he is counting, and he says something unintelligible right after "There's a lot of you." Could someone help me out on this? (As you can tell, I have a hard time with Spanish accents.) Remorium 6:26, 31 October 2013 (CT)

Missing voice responses?

Merasmus' voice responses for rolling the Thriller dance fate aren't listed here. I'd upload them myself but this page seems to be quite recent so I don't know if someone else is planning on getting to it. FlotsamX 21:27, 2 November 2012 (PDT)

There is also missing an audio for the quote, "POOP! POOP IN YOUR PUMPKIN PANTS!"trainguy111 04:01, 28 November 2012 (PST)
There's other quotes missing, where he laughs and taunts the players while hiding as a prop (not counting the ones he says after a long time has passed), I think he once started laughing then said "That really happens!".
Plus, he says things such as "Burn!" while using magic.
Lastly, like what trainguy said, there are additional quotes which he says while he is holding up the Bombinomicon, saying quotes such as "How can you fight, when you're all so SCARED!", and "YES! YES! PERFECT!". DB 00:42, 11 January 2013 (PST)
There are a lot of voice responses missing for Merasmus, including the aforementioned Bombinomicon attack, the Thriller fate, a lot of the hiding quotes, but there is something else I stumbled upon that I'm not sure what to do about. There seems to be some unused responses for Merasmus that appear to have been for when the players that have bomb heads hit him, but were never used in game. I've decided I'm going to attempt to add the missing responses in, since it's been about a year now and they are still missing, though I have to learn how to actually get the sound files for the voice clips and put them in the page now... This may be a while. Remorium 12:47, 27 October 2013 (CT)
I'm so sorry, there was a lot of confusion last year during Halloween. I was trying to upload lines while another user was uploading. I'm currently looking through the files to compare with the missing voice lines. Please let me know if there are lines still missing. User Upgrade Signature.png 16:22, 27 October 2013 (PDT)
Upgrade, you got all the missing lines in! Thank you! Though it is worth noting that the nonspecific Whammy Wheel of Fate responses are actually for when Merasmus is holding up the Bombinomicon (though I have fixed that now), and that it seems that the lines for Merasmus getting hit with the bomb-headed players are unused in-game (but can we keep them up here on the wiki for reference?) Voice actors

So we now know Nolan North voices Merasmus and the Bombinomicon. Who voices the Horseless Headless Horsemann? Dogman15 01:28, 10 November 2012 (PST)

"Boss" responses

Nothing past the Spectral Halloween Special is a boss response.

  • Scream Fortress V: the Mann Brothers are Helltower's announcers, not a boss or bosses.
  • Eternaween: it's a tool item, not a boss. Merasmus is not a boss for announcing it's been activated.
  • Scream Fortress VI: Merasmus is Carnival of Carnage's announcer, not a boss.
  • Scream Fortress VII: the Soul Gargoyle is a pickup item, not a boss. Merasmus is, again, not a boss for announcing it's arrived or left.
  • Pumpkin bombs: they're an environmental hazard, not a boss.
  • Necrosmasher: it's an environmental hazard, not a boss.

My suggestions:

  • Move Eternaween and Pumpkin bombs to their respective articles.
  • Move Scream Fortress V, Scream Fortress VI, Soul Gargoyle, and Necrosmasher to a new "Halloween announcers" page.

Sorting order change

Shouldn't this list be sorted be character and not update/event? Ghhopp44 (talk) 22:16, 26 January 2025 (UTC)

These could probably be moved to their own articles imo, but moving them around now is a huge task not really worth it imo.

How would you have them be moved? I could spare the time for it. — User ThatHatGuy Signature Icon.png 11:10, 27 January 2025 (UTC)

Third time is the charm?

Back in 2023, I created a topic about how nothing past the Spectral Halloween Special of 2012 was a boss response. It got no interactions.

Earlier this year, a topic was created about how the article should be organized, in which GrampaSwood said "These could probably be moved to their own articles", with the only "but" being "moving them around now is a huge task not really worth it imo".

Let's try this a third time: I'm willing to move all the voice lines that are not related to boss fights to the most appropriate articles, which would be:

Alternatively, I could still create the Halloween announcers page I proposed back then and move Scream Fortress VI (2014), Necromasher, Bombinomicon, and Mann Brothers to it. – BrazilianNut (talk) 22:22, 23 November 2025 (UTC)

I meant move them to their own article, i.e., Merasmus responses and MONOCULUS responses. I don't think we should move them on separate pages like you are proposing because a user looking for all voice lines in one place then they'll need to visit separate articles.

This page is fine as is. Moving the contents across many other pages would only lead to confusion.
If the issue is the name, a simple renaming to "Halloween responses" would be preferable. — Tark 22:32, 23 November 2025 (UTC)
I don't like "Halloween responses", I feel like it's a bit too vague and leaves room for some ambiguity/confusion since the playable classes have Halloween responses as well. I would prefer moving the non boss fight-related responses to Halloween announcers instead. – BrazilianNut (talk) 23:00, 23 November 2025 (UTC)
I think splitting up any character's voice lines here is a no-no, but if we move an entire character's set of voice lines (i.e., all of Merasmus' voice lines) then it's fine to have Halloween announcers. But if I'm honest, I prefer the current setup as I don't see this article changing and with the re-ordering it's good.

I don't see what's so bad about splitting Merasmus' voice lines into different articles considering the same already happens with the classes, which have their lines split among "[Class] responses", "[Class] voice commands", and "[Class] taunts".
I would not be opposed to most individual articles, such as "Merasmus responses" and "Mann Brothers responses". I do have one exception, though: the previously-unused voice lines for pumpkin bombs. There are only 19 of them in total, which I don't think is enough for an article of its own; I think these could be moved to Pumpkin bomb, possibly to a new section explaining these went unused until the addition of the map Laughter. – BrazilianNut (talk) 23:53, 23 November 2025 (UTC)
Edit: On second thought, Ghost (and scared player), HHH, and MONOCULUS also have so few voice lines that I don't think an entire article for each is needed for them, and these could be moved to their respective articles instead. – BrazilianNut (talk) 23:56, 23 November 2025 (UTC)
The problem I have with moving them to Halloween announcers is that this could introduce confusion with the community announcers page. Take for example the Devil. He was introduced in this year's scream fortress map Afterlife. Would he also not qualify as a Halloween announcer?. Meaning that he would warrant inclusion on two separate pages. As I proposed back in 2023, Halloween announcers could have a link to Community announcers. It could be in the intro (similar to the class taunts pages), as a {{See also}} at the top, or in a "See also" section. – BrazilianNut (talk) 00:16, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
