Valve Weapon Rabbithole (maybe)

2
Fisherboy800 (talkcontribs)

I was doing research into the weapon history of the Ambassador and got sidetracked when I found this other wiki discussing Robin Walker. On this page, there was an images section with an image of the Valve Rocket Launcher.

There are two big things about this image, one the weapon stats are different from the ones listed on the modern page and modern videos. Second is that when I used google image search on it I discovered this page that claims to be a tutorial of how to modify the game files to gain access to a Valve version of the Equalizer, and with that apparently more weapons in the game as well.

For now I am just putting it out there because I do not have the time to investigate it thoroughly right now, but would like to see if its something that's worthy of my time. I additionally wanted to ask if anyone knew where I could find a copy of the game from October 31, 2010/older versions. The tutorial was created back when, so I would like to see if there were different stats present on the weapons overtime (granted the tutorial even works and still works on modern versions).

I tried to link the image and tutorial but it made me do a click captcha that no matter how many times I clicked it, did not work.

Can you have the Valve quality weapons in a casual match?

If you somehow get one of these weapons, can you play a casual match (not with bots) ?

Lolimsogreat21 (talkcontribs)

Yes you can, if the owner of the valve weapons dies, their weapon will drop and you can pick it up. Lolimsogreat21 (talk) 11:33, 26 February 2025 (UTC)Lolimsogreat21

But woudnt it be crazy? I mean, in a casual game you play really nice and everything is fine until you see a guy that has a VALVe rocket launcher! AND BOOM! He imideatly destroys your entire team! Can that actually happen?

Check the article for videos of Valve quality weapons being used in Casual matches. They are from before the ability to pick up fallen weapons was introduced, though, but since any fallen weapon can be picked up by anyone that can use it nowadays, then one can conclude it is possible to pick them up as well. - BrazilianNut (talk) 15:40, 26 February 2025 (UTC)

Recent footage of Robin's rocket launcher from TFConnect

Is it really necessary for the new footage to be added since the rocket launcher already has a video? Points to consider: Same resolution as current video (720p). New video is 60 fps opposed to old 30 fps. No powerplay in new video. Mvm vs pvp. Old video has more freedom in the third person to show far shots, TFConnect event is almost entirely first person or standard third person distance. Valve pan? <- this might have been a joke but also he has 600 health before equipping the rocket launcher so idk. Pan did not have flying bits points more to the joke. Podcast commentary vs random people talking in game. There are at least 2 other videos of Robin using the RL that you can find quickly using youtube search. These videos have more of a literal 3rd person perspective as they are mostly from the view of another player. There is also a weapon demonstration video of it that surely would be more of a priority to showcase than random videos. For the last point, a lack of a meaningful quality increase, and the footage taking place in custom MvM, I personally don't see the need for the video. Do I have to sign on these pages? We all lived in fear when Robin Williams was frequent on casual pubs with his gun, and we all feared seeing it in person. Valve, is there a way to counteract this? Like a Valve Medigun, perhaps?

This page isn't for this kind of discussion, only for things related to the article
