Hey, to anyone who makes this page: The bronze particle effect is small stamps falling from the hat. Artiii 03:03, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

Ranks

Lets try to figure this out, shall we!

I've currently got 14 stamps and am at only Bronze rank. --Ekoi 07:53, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

I bought 10 sets of stamps and still at bronze, I'm making an assumption that it's probably 25 stamps for any 1 map to rank up, since I have a total of 140 stamps at the moment, but still at bronze. ~ Faint of Heart 13:08, 19 December 2010 (UTC) ~

I believe there are 5 levels of the hat. Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond.AciD 18:28, 22 December 2010 (UTC)

I just checked in tf_english:
"TF_MapDonationLevel_Bronze"	"Bronze:"
"TF_MapDonationLevel_Silver"	"Silver:"
"TF_MapDonationLevel_Gold"	"Gold:"
"TF_MapDonationLevel_Platinum"	"Platinum:"
"TF_MapDonationLevel_Diamond"	"Diamond:"
"TF_MapDonationLevel_Australium1"	"12-karat Australium:"
"TF_MapDonationLevel_Australium2"	"18-karat Australium:"
"TF_MapDonationLevel_Australium3"	"24-karat Australium:"
"TF_MapDonationLevel_Unobtainium"	"Unobtanium:"
Some of these are probably unused, still interesting to note. -- Pilk (talk) 18:41, 22 December 2010 (UTC)

I'm at 15 sets, but still bronze, so I'm still guessing it's 25 stamps for 1 map for a rank up ~ Faint of Heart 07:47, 23 December 2010 (UTC) ~

Steam forums are this way maggots Thespy 19:25, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Quite clearly states on each Stamp in the Mann Co. Catalog that "Membership level for a map will increase for every 25 map stamps." Don't see what there is to assume here in terms of Stamps per Rank?Qazicle 01:45, 24 December 2010 (UTC)

Well most of us didn't see that part, so you could have just said that the membership ranking requirements show in the details. Your last line wasn't needed. ~ Faint of Heart 08:39, 24 December 2010 (UTC) ~

Napolean Hat

It bears a remarkable resemblance to it. Should this be mentioned? (nanosheep_inc) 08:24, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

It's noted right now in the description as a "British Captain's hat", which is not really accurate (nor is "napoleon hat"). I'd say forget both references and call it what it truly is... a bicorne. -- CptObvious 08:32, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

Quote Correction

Doesn't the sniper say "Preciate it"? Sounds like he drops the A in game. On a side note, who changed the original title picture? The first one was hilarious.

I's sad now. --Flying Pyro 20:52, 22 December 2010 (UTC)

No, there's definitely an A in there, though it sounds to me like he says "Appreciated, mate", not "Appreciate it, mate". -- CptObvious 21:06, 22 December 2010 (UTC)

Bugs

I think I saw a disguised Spy wearing the Traveler's Hat, and no particle effects showing up, even if the stamp for that map had been bought. Can anyone confirm this? GeminiViRiS User GeminiViRiS Doubleface.jpg Talk Contribs 21:27, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

Disguised Spies don't have any particle effects. If you disguise as someone with an unusual, you'll get no effect. An easy method to spy-check. --SandeProElite 23:13, 9 April 2011 (UTC)

Rank Display

It doesn't explain on the page what the ranks are for - I know they're only a gimmick but are they displayed in the description or something? » Cooper Kid (Blether · Contreebs) 12:26, 23 July 2011 (PDT)

Each hat is ranked from Bronze to Unobtainium, and the rank is dependent upon how many stamps have been purchased by the player. Every 25 stamps purchased, per map, levels the hat up to the next rank. The ranks are displayed in the Backpack when you are viewing the description. Mainman (TalkContribs.) 12:31, 23 July 2011 (PDT)
But are they displayed when viewing someone else's items in-game? If so, shouldn't the infobox on this page have an example rank display? » Cooper Kid (Blether · Contreebs) 13:09, 23 July 2011 (PDT)
Even the Backpack Viewer websites (OPTF2, TF2 Items, TF2B) don't show detailed stamp information in the tooltip; the tooltip shown on the article page is exactly what a player sees when inspecting someone else who's wearing the hat. The only way to see someone's detailed stamp information, short of them screenshotting their own backpack and sending that to you, is to be their Steam Friend and then look at their Stamp Ranking totals on each community map by joining servers running them. Some bugs were missing...

I've experienced many bugs with this hat - It is my first hat to ever be plopped down on my head. I added the loadout-screen bugs, and I never got a chance to test the bugs in the field - I do not know if it is loadout-only or not. The bugs are the hat turning invisible, which allows you to see the hair of the characters. And the other is when 2 appear - One on top of the other. Vault Medic 05:20, 31 August 2011 (PDT)

The bug where 2 hats appear on the character's head is loadout-only - we don't bother adding that to each individual Wiki page. And the one where it doesn't appear at all is very common, it's just to do with some models being loaded after others or something. It will appear after a while. That's another bug we don't report - it can happen to any item, even weapons. » Cooper Kid (blether·contreebs) 05:51, 31 August 2011 (PDT)

Every edit I make is deleted.... :L For good reasons, though. I'll most likely be a bad editor here. >n< Vault Medic 06:05, 31 August 2011 (PDT)

Take a look at the edit history of anyone here and you'll see most of us started out the same. Keep plodding on =) » Cooper Kid (blether·contreebs) 12:25, 31 August 2011 (PDT)

A Unique hat with an unusual effect?

Is this true? ⇒Leaderboard class spy.png Anyar (talk/contributions/giveaway) 18:53, 14 March 2017 (PDT)
