Featured Article
It may just be me, but I think that the "Featured Article" should be changed. Every time I come onto the wiki, the featured article is Backstab. It would be nice to have some article variety, such as Healing or other game mechanics, or even more recent things, such as the Japan Charity Bundle or something such as that. This way, there can be a bit of variety in the featured article. TurntechGodhead 00:21, 25 March 2011 (UTC)

Did you know.....WHY YES I DO!
EIther its another malfunction on my side but, has anyone even taken consideration on how the "did you know?" page has been the same since last month? rather it seems to get more facts would be to go the "More" page, but change is nice as well isnt it? Gamecrazy009 21:58, 8 February 2011 (UTC)

- The "Did You Knows" aren't really a huge priority. But quite frankly, most of the trivia facts are... well... bad. GeminiViRiS Talk Contribs 08:21, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
- Some of the those who log on or just browse the wiki like to get random facts while at the main page i mean, whats the reason of a "did you know" section when those facts are days, weeks, months, or years old? Gamecrazy009 02:04, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
- Agree with this 110%. Also, crying foul about the facts being of low quality is kinda silly since I believe some in the current rotation, i.e. the Sawmill one, would be herp-derped away by the trivia police within 15 minutes. Long story short, I'd say we're overdue for a rotation. Gerk 21:37, 18 March 2011 (UTC)

- I was wondering why it hasn't changed for what seems like over a year now. After checking, I noticed that the 'Did You Know' facts seemed to be the first ones in the list. Is there a way to change it so it's the latest ones instead? Happy Fun Ball 21:28, 18 March 2011 (UTC)

Random page, random language
Can't a random page be in the language to which you have the main page? There is only a small chance that you will get a random page in English!{{SUBST:User:Cranberry Jerk/Sig}} 16:30, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

WTF
The "latest patch" section says that the most recent patch was 2/3/11, yesterday. Today is the 13th, there has been one other patch since 2/3. Explain these shenanigans. Asdfzxc920 21:55, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
- Odd... it went away when I refreshed the main page, but then this section of the discussion disappeared. This is just weird. Asdfzxc920 21:55, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
- The wiki does not escape lag on occassions. The main page is a big offender of this, showing pages three or four edits from the latest version. Refreshing will fix it.--Focusknock 21:56, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

Should we add a link to the most recently registered account?

- Support I like this idea since most websites support this kind of feature, and could help the community a little better. GeminiViRiS Talk Contribs 20:40, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you. Indeed, the idea presented itself while I was browsing other websites.

- Neutral Technically unfeasible without a server-side extension, and given how hard it is to get Valve to do that, and that there are many extensions that are more important waiting to be installed, I don't think this will happen soon :( — Wind 20:43, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
- Neutral Honestly, with the relatively large turnover and registration rate (especially given that we're supposedly the official Wiki), I don't see how it would actually be a positive contribution; I would not be against it, I just don't see how it would help. --LordKelvin 20:48, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
- Because of the large registration rate this feature would be interesting to implement. I'd be curious to see what the most recently registered name is every time I log on; after all, we are a community.

- Neutral I like the idea, but new members are appearing all the time and people mainly come on the wiki to look up information, not to see who is the newest registered user. DeagleEagle 16:35, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
- I doubt that this feature will outshine all of our TF2 information; also, I feel that the members of our community are just as important as the content itself.

- Oppose The new user will likely not have any userpage setup, so there will be nothing to look at for the new user. Most wiki users arent actually active on the wiki. Also, what happens if someone signs up with an offensive name, like "GAYMAN123" or "TF2WIKISUX"? --Stevoisiak 18:24, 13 April 2011 (UTC)

Strategy
I've noticed that a while ago, weapon pages had the link to the Community strategy page of the respective class removed. Is there a specific reason for this change? I personally think the Community strategy pages have much more to offer players than the normal strategy pages, so it's kinda of a shame that they are only available at the bottom of each class page. I think both options should be available like in the past, or possibly be merged. Mikau 18:36, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
- I think they're currently undergoing a massive overhaul. See the discussion page for more details.--Focusknock 18:49, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
Life Extender Machines
Would anyone mind if i did a little article about the Life Extender Machines? It needs to be done after my conclution because it has kept both Blutarch and Redmond Mann for over 100 years and I want to take the task myself to make it. Trivia, History and Images will be taken from different sources from the TF Wiki and I will get also info from the "Loose Cannon". Hope I'll not make it a stub if it gets too short. Support if you agree! The Noble Scout 12:07, 10 March 2011 (UTC)
- while this is a great idea...you have to set some guidelines to it such as obvious ones (dont make up facts!) and the place for it, and if i knew how then yes i support this idea :D . Gamecrazy009 00:12, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
- I've made the article the same way as Benjamuffin did with the Demopan which can be foun here, so if you are interested to have it as it's own article then just tell me at it's own discussion page. The Noble Scout 14:06, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose The article could use some more work, and the Life Extender Machines are already refered to on the NPCs' section. – Epic Eric (T | C) 22:44, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
Demostration Videos
I had a bit of a brain wave today, I looked at the standard video format we do and decided It really doesn't show enough about the weapon.
Instead of the standard Pyro, Soldier, Medic, I think we should switch to Scout, Soldier, Heavy. Why I hear you ask? Because It gives a better example of the health range between the classes - Medic is not a great example as he regenerates health nor the Pyro as he is resistant to fire damage.
Another thought is that the viewer gets no understanding of the effects of critical and mini-critical damage in the videos. My suggestion is that the Scout is killed regularly, the Soldier killed with mini-critical enabled (Perhaps by a friend giving you the Buff Banner buff) and finally, the Heavy killed with critical hits (Via random chance or a Kritzkrieg).
I know the practicality of pulling this off is a bit harder, but I think it would provide the viewer with a much more understanding of what kind of damage the weapon does. Bigboomar 10:37, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
- i agree with this idea, for the mini crits and critical hits you can use SV_Cheats to happen 100% of the time i think? though i say medic and pyro are good since fire proof and regen could help with statistics? Gamecrazy009 22:07, 16 March 2011 (UTC)

Potato Hat
http://store.steampowered.com/sub/7586/
Seeing as it is not currently in-game, and might be an April Fool's Day joke, do we add a page now, or when the hat is "released" (April 5th)? SnowCanary 00:59, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
- We should add the page when we know the official name and a bit more information. Also, this page is for discussion about the main page itself, this is not the main discussion page. —Moussekateer·talk 01:01, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

Game modes is linked twice, once on the main "pictured" section, and another text-link. I propose replacing either one with a link to maybe Tools or Action items, and possibly making the RED and BLU links into one line (RED / BLU) to fit another more important link. - LingoSalad (talk) 01:17, 11 April 2011 (UTC)

Portals New Unofficial Wiki
With the development of the Portal franchise, something more specific than the Combine Overwiki was needed to accommodate it. So here it is.
It may not be as big as the Overwiki but hopes are it will be more accurate about the Portal series than it is now.--KajiVena of TheVille 19:28, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

I wanted to check out what misc Items are available right now so I looked for a link to the misc items on the Main Page. Sadly there is none. I created remakes of Three-Rune Blade's and Maul's killicon's, 'cause their originals are a bit lame. Here's the comprasion:
What do you think? flutterravie Talk Contribs 09:35, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
Maul seems a bit small so you can't really see the detail in it. Other than that, *shrugs* s'all good. That's something you submit to Valve though if you want them to change. The wiki will only post the ones they use in the game, even if your ones have a better design. ---- No-oneSpecial (talk | contribs) 10:22, 4 June 2011 (UTC)

Update the class images on the front page
Something I've wanted to see for a while is an update to the pictures we have of the classes on the front page. When you look at the 6 images we have for the Index section (the trading, hats, weapons, crafting, game modes and mechanic pics) they have a nice scrap picture look to them. Why can't we have something like this for the classes too, just so it doesn't look so plain and boring? I'd make some samples but Photoshop has decided to no longer work on my computer -.- But yeh that's my suggestion ---- No-oneSpecial (talk | contribs) 10:55, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose The images for the classes on the main page are their images from the in-game HUD, and they work well as icons. --Onyyx 11:00, 4 June 2011 (UTC)

I want to keep the same images an poses they have, just add slight little details like a piece of tape or the appearance of another piece of paper behind it.
