Dr. Grordbort's Crests and Bundles

Hi there.

The pages you have been editing are about the item sets, not the bundles. Dr. Grordbort's Crest, Copper Crest, and Silver Crest are bonus items given to players when they buy the bundles in the store; they are not part of the item sets.

If you examine the crests in the game, you will see they do not have the item sets in their descriptions. Same with the items in the item sets: they don't list the crests are part of the sets.

By the way, the Copper and Silver Crests are obtainable from the Moonbrain Double Pack bundle as well. If you bought the Moonbrain Double Pack and somehow only got one of them, you should contact Valve, because that's not supposed to happen.

Thanks for explaining the difference between the set and bundles. However I was looking in the Mann co store and in the bundles description The Brainiac Pack contains only Copper, The Victory contains only the regular, and the Moonman contains only the silver. Do you think its possible the Mann co store description is wrong? Or perhaps the bundles changed?

To better explain the difference:

  • Item sets are sets consisting of items created together and intended to be equipped together, such as pieces of a costume, that sometimes have additional effects like unique taunts and voice lines when fully equipped.
  • Bundles are discount packs that can be bought on the Mann Co. Store (the in-game store). They can be items from a certain update, all of a class' weapons, etc.

The description is not wrong, and the bundles haven't changed.

  • The Victory Pack was released first and on its own on July 20, 2011. This is why the Crest from its bundle is simply called "Dr. Grordbort's Crest" - because there were no other crests to differentiate it from at the time.
  • The Moonman and Brainiac Packs were released together later that year, as part of the Australian Christmas. Because they were released together they got a mixed bundle, the Moonbrain Double Pack, and since their bundles added more Crests, theirs had something in their name to differentiate them from one another.

I hope this helped.

Thank you again! I simply misread the pack names. I was unaware of the moonBrain Double packs existence, and was simply reading it as the Moonman pack. (You could likely understand my confusion with their names being so similar) Thanks again for your help.
