Hello, GrampaSwood!

Welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Official Wiki!

Here are a few links to get you started:

  • If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
  • If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style guide.

    • To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
    • You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
  • When posting on an article's Talk page you should add four tilde symbols or ~~~~ onto the end.
    • This will add a signature and timestamp to your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
    • Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
    • When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
    • You can use the Signature Icon.png button in the editing toolbar to quickly add a signature.
  • If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for a staff member.

About the "Master of Disguise" achievement bug

Hello, a few days ago you undid a edit I made to the Obtaining General achievements page about of another way to get the "Master of Disguise" achievement, asking for proof.

Well, here it is.

I play TF2 with the text in Portuguese, so I'll leave a small "transcript".

1. BLU Pyro (Player called Ion) fires at a RED Soldier and Demoman, killing them

2. Ion retreats to the point and calls for a Medic

3. I, the Medic, heal them.

4. Ion does the Flamethrower taunt (they probably got the Auto-balance warning right before this)

5. Ion gets auto-balanced to RED

6. Ion, former BLU Pyro, gets the "Master of Disguise" achievement as a RED team member.

Now, I know the page is about getting the achievements in a legitimate way, but I do think this bug is note-worthy.

Cya soon,

Hi there,
I've undone my edit, this is good proof. Also, using # in front of a line on the Wiki will automatically add numbers (see page's source).

Thanks!

Since there are no images that needs improving.. I would like to thank you for fixing one of my images (seriously, thank you) Dix (talk) 13:59, 21 December 2022 (UTC)

Soundtrack Pages

Thanks for helping to clean up some of my work on the Soundtrack pages. I'm an undergrad student in music, and I have no familiarity with editing wiki pages or properly formatting them, but the TF2 Soundtrack has been one of my favorites since middle school and I noticed that many of the pages haven't seen very much attention or contain inaccuracies about the musical content. I have been trying to add accurate analyses to all entries on the soundtrack, as well as clean up some other things on the pages, so I apologize if I've made a mess of anything. Thank you again for what you've already done to help so far.

Trivia is one of the harder things to get right, so that's usually where people make mistakes. As for the other stuff, the only things I've seen you do wrong was having stuff mentioned twice, but otherwise everything seems fine (although I can't check the music stuff, obviously).

trivia quality

Sir, thank you for your fix. But I remain one question. I thought annotation in alcolic automatons publicity blurb is enough to be included trivia. I want to know what is trivia standard? Howtoplaytf2happy (talk) 23:07, 26 December 2022 (UTC)

The publicity blurb is workshop trivia, see the trivia guidelines for more information.

I have a question

Since I’ve uploaded some poster images and updated the list of posters, is it allowed for me to update list of posters cesky, deutch, espanol, francais, japanese, etc without or with translating? I was warned before and I don’t want to make the same mistake again. Dix (talk) 10:38, 30 December 2022 (UTC)

Don't update them, just leave them as-is. Translators will eventually update them.
GrampaSwood (talk) 11:59, 30 December 2022 (UTC)

Thank you!

Sorry for my mistake, wasn't aware of it. Thank you for your help so far! Vege (talk) 23:39, 1 January 2023 (UTC)

Problem with HLMV

I have a problem with Ripped Rider, I tried to open it but it says:

"File models/workshop/players/items/scout/sum22_ripped_rider doesn't exist" any possible fixes? Thanks. Falcons (talk) 11:16, 13 January 2023 (UTC)

I believe this means you opened it using (Steam) Load Model, correct? In that case you have to go into your common/Team Fortress 2/tf folder and create the file path. Create a models folder, in that folder create a "workshop" folder, in that folder create a "players" folder, etc. etc. You have to repeat this for every cosmetic.
GrampaSwood (talk) 11:24, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
Hello. When you get this error, you can simply put sum22_ripped_rider/sum22_ripped_rider.mdl on the "File name:" box, and press "Open", if you are already on the "workshop/player/items/scout" folder (if the "Look in" above has [ROOT]\models\workshop\player\items\scout on it). I'm going to update my "Missing Folders" pack soon, and I'll let you know once it's updated with the latest items (if you don't have this pack installed, I'll link it on my next response). The process of updating it is always cumbersome and I don't often do it, also because you can use the work-around I provided when the pack was not updated. Done. It's updated. You can download it from here. Once downloaded, extract the .zip to your tf/custom folder (Steam\steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\custom). You should have a folder called "HLMV - Missing Folders Fix" inside tf/custom once extracted. This will fix the error that HLMV mentions that the folder doesn't exist. This was updated to the latest patch so far, January 5, 2023. This "mod" does not affect in-game, as it will simply includes a bunch of empty folders (all folders inside models folder from the tf2_misc_dir.vpk). HLMV can't find the folder hierarchy without this on your tf/custom.
