What?

"This weapon allows the player to attack 50% faster than the default Fists, at a rate slightly faster than the Scout's default Bat, but deal 60% less damage with each hit."

Isn't it the other way around? Why wold brass knuckles make your punches faster, but hit lighter? Jabberwock xeno 18:31, 26 June 2011 (PDT)

That's just how the weapon works. It may not make sense, but neither does a sandwich healing a flesh wound, right? The weapon itself is MUCH more fun than it sounds, it's like you're never NOT punching. You're like a Pyro with more health and no afterburn. :B SilverHammer 18:47, 26 June 2011 (PDT)

inaccurate weapon description (or function times)?

The weapon description says 50% faster than a normal melee weapon (normal = 0.8s, 50% faster would be 0.53s). The function times say 0.4s, which is 100% faster.

One of these seems to be incorrect. Stripedy 07:48, 27 June 2011 (PDT)

Well spotted. Unfortunately 0.4s and 0.53s are pretty hard to distinguish (I tried timing the attack interval on the demonstration video) so someone with a better method needs to figure out if this is right. --Cooper Kid (Blether · Contreebs) 07:50, 27 June 2011 (PDT)

Describing the irony

I think Valve should put a description on this weapon that says "Behold, the irony!". Does anybody agree with me?--Dinner101 (talk) 11:37, 28 June 2014 (PDT)

This page is for discussing what could be done for the article, not the weapon. --♠ TntMatthew (♣TC♣) ♠-- 12:08, 28 June 2014 (PDT)

DPS

I'm telling you, 1.5 x 0.4 = 0.6, so the DPS is 40% less, unless it was the other way around, to which 1.6 x 0.5 would be 0.8, so the DPS would be 20% lower. Anyhoo, you can't just undo my edit, which is right FYI, just because someone else's edit was previously undone for the same reason. Get your math right, geez. - Pootis-Man (talk) 07:53, 29 September 2014 (PDT)

There's no need to list a simple mathematics calculation on the page. Anyways, if you've ever had a melee fight you know that speed and damage vastly effect the efficacy. Look at ubersaw v. bonesaw, e.g. Darkid (Talk | Contribs) 07:57, 29 September 2014 (PDT)
I apparently missed this being listed on the page. It is a 20% decrease: 26 damage / .4 sec attack ~= 65 dps versus 65 daamge / .8 sec attack ~= 81 dps
65/81 = 80% Darkid (Talk | Contribs) 08:02, 29 September 2014 (PDT)
You're fucking confusing me. - Pootis-Man (talk) 16:38, 20 October 2014 (PDT)
