Jeffiot trivia

I was about to add a trivia section regarding the inclusion of Jeffiot, but I saw that it was already mentioned in the gallery section. Regardless, I feel like this is the sort of thing that warrants a trivia section, unless I am unfamiliar with how trivia is normally included. Detective Useless (talk) 15:33, 19 December 2025 (UTC)

Remember to add a header when creating a new talk page topic.
It should be fine to include, just make sure to note its location.

Correction about the electric candelabras

Official Swede of the team behind the map, blaholtzen here.

The candelabras are actually electric advent candlesticks (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advent). A very common yuletide decoration in Sweden, invented in the 1930's and ubiquitous by the 60's.

Each of the 7 candle sticks originally meant to represent the days of the week, and the idea being that during the four weeks of advent you'd light up (by screwing in the bulbs in the case of the electric one) one candle a day for each week of advent, though most of the time Swedish people just have the whole thing lit up throughout winter. The more typical design for these are triangle shaped, but the reference I found of one from the 60's had them in a straight line and that is what we based the design in the map on.

I don't know if there's a good place to read about this in English but one could translate the Swedish wiki article on it if they wish to verify: https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adventsljusstake

There are also separate 4-candle ones for each Sunday of advent, similar to an advent wreath https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advent_wreath. Also similar is the German Schwibbogen https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schwibbogen

I can see why they would be confused for menorahs, but they are not.

Thank you for your correction. I counted 7 candles, hence why I figured it could be a menorah and put it as such. Didn't really question why a Swedish map would have jewish religious ornaments. Lolimsogreat21 (talk) 17:08, 27 December 2025 (UTC)Lolimsogreat21
