Talk:Mildly Disturbing Halloween Mask
From Team Fortress Wiki
Might I suggest a slightly more relevant quote for this article? The Scout's "Ooh, yeah, you're real scary." The current quote just feels like a placeholder. Steviejoejimbob 00:57, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, it is a placeholder. Your suggestion is nice. -- OluapPlayer (t)

Trading
I have not been able to trade the Mask, despite not being labeled as Not Tradable. -- SgtWoodsy 02:20, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
the information on this page is wrong, the hat is not tradable. tried several different times with several different people. Delphi 02:38, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
Can someone test trading it by gift wrapping it? The description of Gift Wrap states that it lets you trade items that are not normally tradeable. --Trogdorbad 15:45, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
Lovecraft Reference
- "The Mildly Disturbing Halloween Hats—moldering, eldritch veils of such manifold depravity, the human eye will not process the sheer enormity of their malevolence, and out of self-preservation will merely show you paper bags with faces on them."
- "This hat may be a parody of H.P. Lovecraft's literature, because it is stated that many Lovecraftian monsters' true forms cannot be processed by humans and, instead, appear as simpler creatures."
- Is this information regarding the appearance of Lovecraftian creatures correct? --Mechlord 08:32, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
- I would hope that you actually found out if it is true yourself before adding the trivia. Simply editing in trivia on a hunch or guess is the mark of a poor contributor.--Focusknock 08:37, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
- Hey now Focus. Don't be so mean. That's a great edit. – Smashman (talk) 08:43, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry, I didn't mean to be mean. What I mean is that backing up your trivia with facts, maybe a wiki link will help, and will stop the notorious among us removing the line simply because they felt it had no factual claim.--Focusknock 08:57, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
- It was there before (not by me) and someone removed it. I just thought it had some merit, and didn't want it to simply vanish so I reinstated it and created this talk section. I have no idea who first put it on the page. --Mechlord 09:08, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

- Ugh, him. In that case, this trivia may be unfounded. Although the information seems seems familiar, I have been unable to find a specific reference as of yet. --Mechlord 09:33, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
- Delete it its not canon how many unsustantiated facts is acceptable a very quick search got me this link http://www.ehow.com/about_6331187_information-halloween-masks.html--Markd 09:37, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

ROBLOX made one too!
SUP! Look!

Can I state this is OBVIOUSLY inspired by this item we are on the discussion for? May I also state that we should add this fact to Trivia? Because it looks STRIKINGLY similar to the mask used by Scout. — The preceding unsigned comment was added by SSF2Zelda (talk) • (contribs) 19:27, 15 November 2011
- If the Halloween Mask on TF2 was inspired by the one on ROBLOX then it would be fine trivia, but it's the other way around so I don't think it is. » Cooper Kid (blether) • (contreebs) 18:21, 15 November 2011 (PST)
