Talk:Monday Night Combat
From Team Fortress Wiki
Can I put this here?
I was thinking of putting a "Trivia" section that states the following:
- The characters in Monday Night Combat are created by combining DNA of specialists in their area of expertise. The Sniper's profile states that he was created by combining the DNA of some of the greatest snipers in video gaming. With the new promotion cross-over with TF2, it can be greatly assumed that MNC's Sniper has some of the DNA of TF2's Sniper. SalaComMander 18:34, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
- No thanks, that would fall under speculation which goes against the trivia guidelines: Help:Style guide/Trivia. The page is only here to redirect people to sources that better cover this topic as well.

- I find this far from coincidental, but ok...SalaComMander 18:42, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
- More importantly, MNC isn't canon. —

- Neither is Left 4 Dead. And yet, Bill's hat fell through a wormhole and landed in the TF2 universe SalaComMander 18:45, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
- That's because it was in the TF2 Blog GeminiViRiS

- And Mann Co. delivered a crate to MNC. I don't think "canon" really changes from one promotion to another. SalaComMander 18:48, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
- Yes it does. MNC's storyline wasn't written by Valve. They can imply whatever they want in their game. Also can you leave your signature on the same line as your comment and follow this talk page structure. You're making it hard to read the comments. —

- What's so hard to read? Back-forth-back-forth-back-forth. It really is simple to follow. SalaComMander 18:54, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
- It's the talk page style so stick to it please, even if you don't like it. —

- It's not that I don't like it. I just don't do things that I find to be pointless. But it obviously means the world to you, so...ta-da SalaComMander 18:58, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
- You know, we DO have an IRC chat right? #tfwiki GeminiViRiS

- Splendid...not that that helps me, but then again, nothing does. SalaComMander 19:04, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
- Indenting is important, it helps people clearly see different parts of a discussion. Each indented comment follows on from a single point. If I wanted to add a new comment to the discussion, maybe bring something into it that people didn't know about before or whatever, then I would do this:

and start here without indention, as this shows that this is a new comment, and allows people to better reply to this single point. Without indention, it becomes very difficult to keep track of this, as although a back and forth discussion might work with just two people, with multiple people with different views, simple back and forth comments become inadequate. Just looking at the main discussion page here: Team Fortress Wiki:Discussion should show you exactly why this is important.

- Okay, I'm sorry. I've been on wikis for 2 and a half years now, and nobody's ever told me this. SalaComMander 19:14, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
