Valve Wiki Network is simply a web-ring for the top Wikis available for Valve Software's products, intended to benefit each member by linking to each other through sidebar links, a section on the bottom of each member's Main Page, and appropriate use of interwiki links.

Criteria

To be considered a member, a Wiki must meet the following criteria.

  • Free to edits.
Either open to anonymous edits, or does not restrict newly registered accounts with regards to how they can contribute - within reason.
  • Active community.
Daily constructive contributions by site members.
  • Active staff.
Respond to clearly de-constructive contributions within 24 hrs.
  • Good search engine ranking.
An first-page ranking for a non-personalised Google search for "[Wiki's focus] Wiki."
  • Established content.
The wiki must already cover the basics of it's focused product.

Advertisements

  • No pop-ups.
  • No in-window pop-ups that overlaps content.
    • Reasonable if the advertisement requires explicit interaction with a user to trigger it's pop-up; must also have a clear way to exit this pop-up.
  • No auto-playing video or audio.
  • Measures in place to quickly respond and blacklist any violations of these criteria within 48 hrs.
