The backpack is not present in [[Team Fortress 2]], and were replaced by [[ammo]] boxes. There is no way in Team Fortress 2 to aquire ammo from living players besides from a Dispencer an [[Engineer]] has built, but you may aquire ammo from dead players by picking up their weapons. The Backpack is an pickup in a classic Team Fortress games. They contain a mixture of Ammo, Armor and Health. The amount in each backpack depends on the mapmaker.

Backpacks can be dropped by the player manually or when the player dies. Backpacks dropped by the player while alive contains all of the ammo that the player's class cannot use (such as Nails for the Soldier), while Backpacks dropped by dead players contain all of the ammo the player had when they died, minus grenades.

Team Fortress 2

The backpack is not present in Team Fortress 2, and were replaced by ammo boxes. There is no way in Team Fortress 2 to aquire ammo from living players besides from a Dispencer an Engineer has built, but you may aquire ammo from dead players by picking up their weapons. As a player, there is no way to drop ammo for pickup, but you may build a dispencer while playing as Engineer.
