Skin

judging by the stats and description it seems to be an eyelander skin. Thunder9092 01:41, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

I know a guy who has it and apparently it doesn't have the Eyelander's other attributes. -Shine[] 01:43, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
Interesting. Could be a bug, as looking on the forums there seems to be quite a bit of them. Thunder9092 01:54, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
I've spent a bit of time with it for a few tests, and - to me at least - it seems pretty much the same. For a moment it felt like I was walking slower but maybe that's just because of the huge viewmodel. HirotheFox 09:04, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Crafting Recipe Duration

Do we know if the recipe will only be available during Halloween? (And if so, just Halloween 2010?)Ettin 03:55, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

No, we do not know yet. It will likely be impossible to find the haunted metal after the event is over though, as the achievement for it will go away. Even so, I see no reason why the crafting blueprint would vanish (many people won't be able to get the required refined metal before the event ends, so keeping it would allow for more time) HirotheFox 08:56, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

I've seen it crafted it with 2 reclaimed metal instead of 2 Refined. Seth_Hunter 12:56. 30 October 2010 (-7 GMT)

Found as Drop

I have removed "found as rare drop from the Horsemann" from Basic Information, as there is currently no proof of this (and if there is/was, it has not been cited) HirotheFox 07:10, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Tradable?

Anybody know if it is or not?Lems 08:23, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

It is not, as it uses the metal you get from the achievement GeneShark 08:24, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
I get the feeling that Valve might change this later if there is a big enough outcry though, just as they did with the Ellis hat and pan. HirotheFox 08:37, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
I hope not, I just crafted one >_> GeneShark 08:47, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
Well, there IS a way to make it tradable. I gift wrapped a thing of Unusual Haunted Metal from my ALT account and, when I opened the gift, the Metal was suddenly tradable. I assume this has to do with the "Not Tradable" tag being replaced with the "Gift ID" tag instead. At any rate, it is possible to have Tradable Axes and Metal.
Further more, as proof I present my backpack with Tradable Metal:

Along with the gift trade glitch my axe is actually tradeable, I crafted this axe during the first day of the halloween update, then when i checked my backpack after an update my axe was suddenly tradeable, heres my backpack for proof as well. http://www.tf2items.com/id/WZ4Xm2vk Gamecrazy009 17:33, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
Indeed, seems to be a glitch, but we'll keep it as untradable. – Smashman (talk) 17:35, 30 October 2010 (UTC)

Page Title

Horseless Headless Horsemann's Headtaker needs to be deleted and this page moved to it. Unusual is the quality, not part of the item name. -- Lagg Backpack Stickybomb Launcher.png 10:55, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Technically Lagg is correct, as the in-game link to the wiki hits the page without the Unusual prefix, however since the item in the catalog is called 'Unusual', and I don't think it's possible for this item to exist without being 'Unusual', it's a bit of a toss-up on if it should be renamed or not, imo. --Org 11:03, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
It's just as possible for it to exist with a different quality as it is for a normally unique item to exist with community quality. We also know that the Mann Co. Supply Crate will probably never exist with a quality that isn't unique but we do not call the page Unique Mann Co. Supply Crate or The Mann Co. Supply Crate. -- Lagg Backpack Stickybomb Launcher.png 11:31, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
Neither does the backpack, the backpack does call this the 'Unusual' HHHH, but so long as this redirects to the HHHH I don't think it matters GeneShark 11:32, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Tradeable?

...the Unusual Horseless Headless Horsemann's Headtaker cannot be traded, unless gifted by Gift Wrap. This was later updated, however, and can now be traded.

When was it updated to be tradeable? There is no proof in the change log.--Focusknock 07:34, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

I checked yesterday and mine is tradeable. However, there's reports that only ones crafted post-patch are tradeable, so I'm not sure what's true or not -- Balladofwindfishes 12:30, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
It isn't. I crafted mine 2 hours after the update was released, and mine is tradeable. - Jeff AndonutsJEFF used Bottle Rocket! 18:58, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Missing Kill icon?

  • It seems that it shows the kill symbol for slashing people in the back, even when destroying a sentry or any other buildable. M-NINJA 17:57, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
  • Interesting and humorous, but doesn't really need to be in Trivia. HirotheFox 09:33, 30 October 2010 (UTC)

Kill Icon

  • I don't know how to, but someone should upload the kill icon for this weapon and add it like the other weapons. I'm surprised nobody has done this, especially considering it has a unique kill icon mentioned in the trivia. -- Balladofwindfishes 12:45, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
    • Well, someone did it. Scalene 06:57, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

General stuff

  • Longest item name in TF2, this baby gets the reward. Does it not?

Shadow86 23:30, 30 October 2010 (UTC)

Agree, but this is not the area for general discussions. Please go to the [forums] for such things. --Focusknock m 09:23, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

Unknown Patch

  • Over the last few days, many Unusual Horseless Headless Horsemann's Headtakers that, including a friend's and mine, after two days of being crafted, become tradable. I remember reading on our wiki that an untradable item will become tradable after two days. I can't find the source that I read it from, but I am certain of two things:
    • One is that the source I read it from was on our wiki.
    • Two is that I have not seen it since then, it was probably edited out after it was posted.
  • If anyone is willing to help me get to the bottom of this then that would be awesome, but I'm pretty sure that everyone is not Gift Wrapping their Unusual Haunted Metal Scraps to get a tradable Headtaker. Sonic Nova 23:53, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

I crafted mine two days ago out of untradable haunted metal that I got via gift wrap, the resulting axe was initially untradable, but about a day later it was. My backpack shortly after crafting it: [1] . My backpack a day later: [2]Natemckn 20:37, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

  • I had the same results; as proof, here is my backpack as Before and After. As you can see, it was over a two day period without any alteration to my backpack, I tried to list this Unknown Patch under Trivia on the article, but someone swiftly edited it out. Video

Either no video, or video for all. Consistancy is key. Vote? --Kurathedog 21:45, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

It needs a video demonstrating the weapon. Not how to get it, now how to craft it. Just demonstrating how it works through gameplay.--Focusknock s 19:49, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Where'd the Item Name go?

All I can see in the weapon description is this "Level 0-100 Axe" and the lines after that. Is it just me and if not: what happened? Psychopath 01:15, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

Must be a glitch, my axe is fine. It might have something to do with the Item maintenance two days ago, but it will probably go away on its own.--Exiggah 19:54, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Invincibility Damage?

  • I was playing on a server with invincibility enabled so players could earn the Gored! and Sleepy HollOwned achievements. Equiped with the Chargin' Targe, I charged at an enemy player with the Headtaker. With a fully-charged swing, I was able to kill the player, even when invincibility was turned on, is this a bug? If anyone has had the same experience, then we should make a note of this.
