Spycrab Hunt is a fan-made game mode that elaborates upon the meme which relates to Spycrabs. The BLU Team will be a migrating herd of "Spycrabs" while the RED team will consist of Snipers using the Huntsman called the "Hunters".

Gameplay

The goal of this mode is for the Spycrabs to reach the other side of a map before the Hunters can take them all out. The game normally starts out with only 2-3 Hunters, the number of which depends upon how many players are present. When there are an abundant amount of players, the Hunters will grow in number. Once all the Spycrabs are dead, friendly fire will be turned on, and a round of team-killing will commence for the Hunters. An alternative for this game mode is that one Spycrab is escorted by his team which consists of Spies equipped with a primary weapon in order to take out the Hunters. On some servers, if a Hunter has killed a fair amount of Spycrabs, he is awarded a fake achievement which will call them a "Crazed Huntsman" e.g. Sniper is a Crazed Huntsman.

The Spies are forced to go into the Spycrab position. If they do not crouch, they are frozen in their spawn until they do the position. A message stating: "Couch and Look Up" will appear to help new players learn what to do. If they look down, the camera auto-locks them back to looking at the sky, but the angle is low enough that they can just enough to see the Hunters. Killed Spycrabs will respawn as Snipers.

Equipment Allowed

Note: If a Spy plays with Your Eternal Reward equipped, he will become a Civilian. This is due to the fact that the server removes access to other weapons other than the Knife, and the Disguise Kit is not present.

If a Sniper does not own a Huntsman or Jarate, he will be given a specially modified Pistol that fires an Arrow. This modified Pistol uses the Engineer's viewmodel, but the player appears to hold nothing in third-person mode. If the Sniper owns a jar of Jarate but no Huntsman, he will only be able to use Jarate.
