Backpack or Mochila

Are we using the word Backpack or Mochila? Half of the page uses Backpack and the other half uses mochila. Rolandius 07:03, 6 August 2011 (PDT)

  • The word that should be used is Mochila as it is shown in the In-Game Localization Files Should you see Backpack being used across any Spanish article please feel free to change it to Mochila at your convenience. The localization file shows all the names which are being used in-game. Our rule of thumb here is "If it is not translated in the localization files, then leave the English name on the article until Valve include the translated words supplied by STS". Hope this response helps. BiBi 07:17, 6 August 2011 (PDT)

Requirements to help translate pages

I hadn't seen the In-Game Localization Files page until now. Do you have to be a "native speaker" to help out with the Spanish pages? I am not a "native speaker", but I do know how to speak Spanish. Rolandius 19:15, 6 August 2011 (PDT)

  • Spanish does not need to be your first language, however a good grasp of the language is essential and vital if translation are to be made. I would recommend that if you want to work on articles in the Spanish section of the wiki that you read the guidelines we have for all the translating team in here. If you have any further concerns or queries please feel free to ask. BiBi 01:09, 7 August 2011 (PDT)

Dr. Grordbort's Victory Pack

Why was this taken out? Is it because it is not verified yet? Rolandius 06:48, 8 August 2011 (PDT)

Its a bundle, not a update. Dio ★ (talk) 06:49, 8 August 2011 (PDT)
How is it different from something like the Japan Charity Bundle? Rolandius 06:54, 8 August 2011 (PDT)
Those of the STS spanish translator didnt has translated before. Another thing, if you think that you can translate in to spanish, you can speak to spanish too, so, use spanish in this talk to make any question or opinion. Dio ★ (talk) 07:06, 8 August 2011 (PDT)
I read that talk pages are supposed to be in English. "It is vital that all discussion based on specific users and articles is in English." Rolandius 18:58, 8 August 2011 (PDT)
Yeah, I know. But in the translation progress can use spanish (like the russians, frenchs, brazilians, and other lenguajes in they progress talk) and I want to know what is your level of spanish. Dio ★ (talk) 02:59, 10 August 2011 (PDT)
Just to clarify Rolandius, in this particular page we can communicate in Spanish. However, whenever there is an issue with regards to a user's edits or something of the sort, then it is important that those conversations should remain in English so a moderator or admin can oversee what is going on and step in should things be getting out of hand. Sometimes there are discrepancies and Staff Members of the TF2Wiki are here to help out in these situations. In this particular circumstance, Dio is right in pointing out that your particular query can be in Spanish since it is purely about a weapon. BiBi 09:54, 11 August 2011 (PDT)

SuperActualización

¿Se ha vuelto a cambiar el nombre de la Über Update? Como antes lo teníamos por defecto como "Actualización de la Über"... De hecho, creo haber visto alguna discusión hace un mes sobre ello. Que por cierto, ¿"Súper" no debería llevar tilde? Es un error ortográfico muy común. El señor Caja 08:35, 15 August 2011 (PDT)
