Marked for deletion

I believe this article should be deleted due to its incompleteness and the fact that it isn't up to standards for our articles about third-party mods and maps. It's only a stub (though not marked as such), but it's also inaccurate. Since the article hasn't been created before now, I don't expect it will get filled out in large detail beyond its current stub state. Can we delete this and then maybe it can be created later (as Balloon Race) when someone wants to make it a full-blown article? Thoughts? – fashnek (talk·c) 11:34, 11 December 2011 (PST)

Pictogram plus.png Agree I too think that this page should be deleted; I don't think there is going to be enough information to make a page for it, as it is not really a mod but just a payload race map with giant carts. The current page is mostly just walls of text containing information that doesn't need to be noted. Maybe in the future this page can be made, but not right now. I agree, I personally do not think that this merits a page until it has gained some notoriety. Everyone has heard of AW, VS Saxton Hale, and Zombie Fortress, for example, but this seems rather obscure. Painted Vintage Merryweather 803020.pngFyahweather 12:53, 11 December 2011 (PST)
Actually, I find Balloon Race quite commonly and is quite a popular mod. And fyi, I was still working on the page. I just saved it occasionally to make sure nothing gets deleted. The preceding unsigned comment was added by JoblessScout (talk) • (contribs)
Balloon race is not a mod, it is a map. We are considering allowing the page as a map page. You can save your work in a word or text document instead of saving it as well. Please tab over your comments with colons and sign your talk comments with ~~~~. --User Firestorm Flame.png Firestorm
Actually, it is a different type of mod due to it's unusual style of gameplay. Sure it is a map, but then that leaves the question: What type of game is it then? The answer: it's a custom mod called "Balloon Race". --User:JoblessScout
If it was a mod, there would be several maps designed around it. Also, please sign your comment literally with four tildes, and use the "Show Preview" button to ensure it looks like it is supposed to -User Firestorm Flame.png Firestorm 14:16, 11 December 2011 (PST)
Well, what about TF2ware? There's one map for it. And remember, there are 4 versions of balloon race maps that have significant changes in their map design and gameplay. So technically, there are multiple maps for it. And just saying, I didn't make one of those signature icons yet -Template:JoblessScout 14:25, 11 December 2011 (PST)
When I originally marked this for deletion, it was just a tiny stub and I didn't anticipate it growing. Now there is a lot more information, so I am having doubts. I do find Balloon Race to be notable as a map; I know dozens of people who have played it a lot (verifiably). It's definitely not a mod, though -- TF2ware is a mod, even though it happens to use one specific map. I do think this article would need more information (like pictures) and fewer trivial things (like differences between versions). More importantly, just wanted to point out that [this article has been deleted before] when it had the properly capitalized name (Balloon Race). That doesn't necessarily mean this one should be deleted, but it does demonstrate precedent. If this article does stay around, it needs to be revamped as I said before. I'm adding back the mark for deletion -- it shouldn't have been removed while there was still a discussion going. JoblessScout, it's a better idea to finish as much of an article as possible before you create it. The initial edit is generally considered to the final created version, which is why a few of us jumped on it as soon as it went up. – fashnek (talk·c) 16:40, 11 December 2011 (PST)
