Hello, ScottishDrunkard!

Welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Official Wiki!

Here are a few links to get you started:

  • If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
  • If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style guide.
  • Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
    • To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
    • You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
  • When posting on an article's Talk page you should add four tilde symbols or ~~~~ onto the end.
    • This will add a signature and timestamp to your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
    • Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
    • When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
    • You can use the Signature Icon.png button in the editing toolbar to quickly add a signature.
  • If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for a staff member.
  • If you have trouble with anything on the wiki or you're not sure about a specific topic, feel free to join the IRC.
  • You can also customize your user page if you like.
    • When uploading images for use on your user page, please add the prefix User ScottishDrunkard to the file's name.
    • Additionally, if you would like to add any self-made content to the wiki, please do so by adding the prefix User:ScottishDrunkard/ to the page title when you create the page.

Once again, welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Wiki!

Signing Talk Pages

I'm going to have to bring this up again, you must sign your posts on talk pages using ~~~~. As far as I'm aware, it says about doing that on every single talk page when you're editing it, so you can't really say you don't know that you have to do it or that you don't know how to do it. WelcomeBOT's message above this covers using the signature too. --Omolong (talk) 08:38, 24 December 2014 (PST)

Apologies, but getting into new habits is very difficult. I will try to keep that in mind, but nobody is perfect. ScottishDrunkard (talk) 08:40, 24 December 2014 (PST)
I can understand that, but it's not really something you can just not do, you have to sign your posts. There is even a button in the editing toolbar that automatically inputs the tildes when you click it. Having to sign your posts after you can get quite annoying to do. --Omolong (talk) 08:59, 24 December 2014 (PST)
Did you say a button that would do it for me? That would allow me to be lazy :) ScottishDrunkard (talk) 09:02, 24 December 2014 (PST)
Once again, I must bring this up. There is no real excuse to not putting your signature on talk pages. You have been spoken to about it multiple times, and there is a message on talk pages that says about doing it. The fact that you are on an iPad is no excuse. If it too awkward to put the tildes in manually, then just use the button in the editing toolbar for it. --Omolong (talk) 11:34, 28 December 2014 (PST)
Where is it? Preferences? ScottishDrunkard (talk) 11:36, 28 December 2014 (PST)
If you have disabled the editing toolbar, then you'll have to enable it in preferences. If not, then it is this Signature Icon.png button, as WelcomeBOT said above. There is a similar icon in the top bar of the enhanced editing toolbar as well. --Omolong (talk) 11:40, 28 December 2014 (PST)

Hello. Please do not revive old discussions that haven't been touched in years. You revived an old discussions which ended almost 3 years ago. Try not to do it again in future, and make sure to pay attention to the dates of messages. Thanks.  –  Kii (talk) 04:19, 2 January 2015 (PST)

Recent Edits + Recent behavior

Heyo, After noticing what was going on, I'm just going to point out several things.

1. Its been a wiki policy/standard that "The" in an item name doesn't exist in the name on wiki for obvious reasons. If every article started with "The"... it would be difficult to navigate the search bar option with the drop down if all you see is everything starting with "The". That and its pretty redundant to have honestly.

2. Your recent behavior (and not so recent). The attitude and language given to other members isn't REALLY appropriate. Especially when they are pointing out a mistake or trying to help you.

3. Rather than shun out anyone who tries to help you, perhaps try and use your mistakes and learn off them. That's the sole reason why Omolong was undoing/pointing out your mistakes. Its to help you understand what is right and what is wrong when editing the wiki.

Whether you read this or not is really up to you, I'm just pointing this out because the behavior you displayed isn't appropriate. That and i'm not sure whether or not a moderator will do anything regarding said behavior.

In case it is not already obvious to you, I am going to clarify it: we do not take kindly to insulting other users, which was the main reason for your ban (and might I add, I did consider making it permanent, but decided to be lenient). And considering the circumstances of that ban, I'm going to give you only one more chance here on the Wiki. You will conduct your behavior appropriately, both through your edits here and your behavior in the IRC channel (should you choose to go there again), or I will ensure that you do not bother us again.
As an addendum, the reversion of your edits was mainly due to not following trivia and/or style guidelines, so in order to avoid such situations again you would probably due well to read the guidelines and make sure that you understand them. --User LordKelvin Signature.png LordKelvin 15:05, 18 April 2015 (PDT)
I'm not going to be doing many or any edits. The easiest way I know to not get banned again is to not do anything. When a new update comes out, it will make skeleton pages for any new weapons, cosmetics or maps, like I have always done. ScottishDrunkard (talk) 05:06, 19 April 2015 (PDT)
