For the users who don't have a userpage yet, should I transfer it from the old wiki or wait until they do it themselves? --Firestorm 21:50, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

I'll rewrite this page. So it's ok for now. -- Smashman... (ts) 21:57, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

It's about time! I made the request about 3 weeks ago! --Firestorm 00:03, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

Wording of trivia

Makes it sound like Valve has a Wiki network full of Official Wikis when this is the only one. Someone wanna take a crack at it? I won't be up much longer. -- En Ex (talk) 03:26, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

hey guys! Just made a edit to the tutorial link. before it said "the tutorial tutorial". I took one tutorial out. -- User:Neilzepan

does this needs to be translated on russian? TIS 01:53, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

I was wondering if we should start an article about the Team Fortress Wiki on Wikipedia. Opinions? – Smashman (talk) 22:05, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

To be fair, it's probably not notable enough to be more than a link in the TF2 page. --CruelCow 22:08, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
What could be said that isn't said on the TF2 page, or here? TheMedik 22:10, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
Only that we exist. We really don't warrant our own article on Wikipedia. We are really just a system hosted on the official website of a game. I like the Wiki, the Wiki is awesome, but we aren't nearly large or important enough to have an entire article on another Wiki. -- Alex2539 -- 22:12, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
These were my reasons to be apprehensive, which is why I asked. Guess we won't be doing it then. – Smashman (talk)
Actually, let's think about this. If we have an article on Wikipedia, perhaps Google searches will bring us up higher in the search then the other one --Firestorm 23:44, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
Lol, not happening. I like how you think we'd actually have some choice over whether an article gets written – anybody who writes their own article about themselves on Wikipedia will usually see that article thrown into the bin for 'self-promotion' in a matter of hours. seb26 [talk] 04:28, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

Konami Code

I tried to do the Konami Code listed in the triva, but nothing happens. Does it not work anymore, or am I doing something wrong. I'm using Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right b a ENTER, which is what the page says, so I am pretty sure I am doing it right. Any thoughts? Thunder9092 19:35, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

It works fine. Do you have javascript disabled? – Smashman (talk) 19:37, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
I checked, and it is enabled. I tried on a different computer (which also had javascript enabled), and it also didn't work. How long does the animation last, as since you have to press down twice, is it possible I am missing it before i can scroll up again? Note that on both computers I was using IE, does that have anything to do with it? Thunder9092 01:17, 30 October 2010 (UTC)

I just tested the code and it worked fine. Random Fact: When the easter egg plays the spy has a z-index of 10000 Lord Manship Engineer.png I love Engineers! I hate Spies! 13:24, 3 December 2011 (PST)

Other TF2 Wiki?

I'm new here, and before this wiki came out, I noticed another TF2 Wiki.

Are we trying to run them out of business or something?

Also, how do I leave me name in discussions? -eat my soup --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Eat my soup (talk) • (contribs)

Well that's the unofficial wiki, the one we grew from. Unfortunately the owner has decided to not shut down, so yes. We're trying to beat them. Unfortunately they hold the top spot on Google. Please remember to sign your comments on talk pages with ~~~~. – Smashman (talk) 18:01, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

Thanks! Eat my soup 18:03, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
Just so you know. They are ad-ridden, inaccurate and vandalised. Remain here and you won't go wrong! – Smashman (talk) 18:07, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

User box

How could you place an Userbox in your own user page? I was wondering Mardamien24 07:44, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

  • You simply add {{User Wiki editor}} to your page like it's shown on the Userbox page, depending on the userbox you want to have of course. Tturbo 07:51, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

Just something that has been nagging at me for a while: (diff) (hist) . . m <page title>‎;

What does the '+2' number mean? Stripedy 17:03, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

It means 2 bytes (2 characters) have been added to the page. — Wind 17:04, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

Citation Needed or Removal... (Warning: Rant)

Quote: In June 2010, the wiki and its content was moved to a new server hosted by Valve and became the official Team Fortress Wiki, covering everything related to Team Fortress 2 and its older siblings – Team Fortress Classic and Quake Team Fortress.

I really think that is misleading, especially the Team Fortress (What they renamed wrongly Quake Team Fortress, its Team Fortress...), the only information on this site related to that that I could find are the page about the promotional weapon "The Original", this page: and the class skins I added to each class page. It doesn't seem right to say it covers everything related to Quake Team Fortress. TeamXlink 20:44, 25 August 2011 (PDT)

Team Fortress, Main Page (Classic), and Team Fortress Classic. I rest my case. MogDog66User MogDog66 Service Metal No WhiteSpace.png 20:47, 25 August 2011 (PDT)
The project has stagnated, but we still do cover that stuff so it is technically correct. -- Pilk (talk) 20:49, 25 August 2011 (PDT)
I already linked to that Team Fortress page MogDog66, as you can see in my original post, and I didn't say anything about TFC, that is covered very well. :::;TeamXlink 20:51, 25 August 2011 (PDT)
QTF and TFC content has been combined on the one page due to the similarities. Differences are highlighted. This also makes the content easier to maintain. -- Pilk (talk) 20:52, 25 August 2011 (PDT)
They are different games though, that doesn't solve the problem if anything it makes the confusion worse doesn't. I wasn't suggesting to move the page or work around the problem only fix it by improving the Team Fortress page or altering the text linking to it.TeamXlink 20:58, 25 August 2011 (PDT)
So you want something like this? MogDog66User MogDog66 Service Metal No WhiteSpace.png 21:07, 25 August 2011 (PDT)
I don't see the difference, maybe you pasted the wrong text.TeamXlink 21:29, 25 August 2011 (PDT)
Just making sure, you know Quake Team Fortress is the exact same thing as Team Fortress, meaning it is the same game with two names, right? -Rocket Ship BBQ 17:45, 9 October 2011 (PDT)
