Using the Kunai

Managing Low Health: Your most powerful, and useful option by far will be the Invisibility Watch. With the ability to move further across large maps unseen you will be a more powerful asset to your team. With a -65 handicap walking out of spawn, The Dead Ringer is a weak option, and redundant once you reach your 180hp overheal. Escaping after one stab to full overheal is enough to escape. The Dead Ringer will neither prove effective, or believable.

Know your map. Plain and simple. You want to be aware of the areas where most battle takes place, so that you may avoid the spam. For example: Capture Point 2 on Badwater. You’re going to need to pay attention to whether or not the roof is receiving more attention than the choke that actually pushes the cart to the cap. If you are at your base, starting health, then you will want to take the least populated route to get behind the enemy. *Note that as you gain more hours, and experience with the Conniver's Kunai, travelling through chokes, if done smoothly, becomes a viable option.*

High ground is important. Have knowledge of where you can get above the enemy, take corners wide, so as to not bump into an enemy, whether cloaked, or uncloaked.

If your only option is to cut through the battle, whether it’s the only choke, or it will be more beneficial to your team should you survive, strafing and ammo surfing becomes your best friend. Keep one eye on the enemy, and the other on your desired location. Pay attention to where Soldiers and Demos are spamming rockets and grenades, where Pyros are charging, or checking, and in which direction the Engineers sentry rockets are most likely to fire. Being able to strafe in and out of the spam will become the corner stone of you Invis Watch gameplay with the Kunai. Also, make note of ammo packs that will increase your cloak, if safe, pick it up. Don’t forget to watch out for weapons of fallen enemies, which will also feed your cloak.

Choosing Your Primary: People wonder which is the most powerful Primary to use in combination with the Kunai. ALL OF THEM ARE. Don't forget that your gun is your Primary Weapon for a reason. To better use them, consider the following:

Revolver: The stock Spy Primary is extremely powerful. With the ability to very quickly take down enemies, it is both team friendly, and all-in-all fun to use when you can finish off so many enemies in a row.

Ambassador: Probably the most used Primary by spies in the game. Extremely powerful, however, with great power comes great responsibility. The Ambassador is only as powerful as the aim of the player who uses it. Against players with near full, or full hp, if you don't land that first head shot soon, you're most likely toast. Especially if their friends come along.

L'Etranger: The L'Etranger gives you an extra amount of cloak time that is incredibly useful for larger maps. You can get from Point A to Point D or from Home Base to Center/Mid to Enemy Base in one cloak on most maps if you know where the ammo packs are. The best gun to use if you're wanting to get to spawn for teleporters, or even just wait out an extra few seconds as your team pushes and distracts your targets.
