The Hidden Page Project

Hello, En Ex. I will surely be of help in your project for finding the hidden pages throughout updates and the blog of Team Fortress 2. Though, I would like to have all the information sorted out first, and released to the public in a large consecutive order. Wintergreen 03:46, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

A Helping Hand

I come to understand users can help change, format, and apply newly info and updates about TF2 on the Official TF2 Wiki link. How does this work, how can I or another user help the official wiki of TF2? I would love to help this community in anyway - believe I mad have found the best ways in my interest.

Tomjefferson 01:35, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for joining the Official TF2 Wiki and helping out! It's always great when we get new editors who are eager to lend a hand. Check out our tasks page, it full of things you can get involved it. Please feel free to ask me any more questions. -- En Ex (talk) 01:49, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

Come onto IRC

I can't chat with you about the current Meet the Team and video edits if you're not online. :( Zoolooman 23:21, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Getting on IRC now. -- En Ex (talk) 06:15, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

Why did you delete the Talk page of File:Team_talk_gravelpit.JPG? --CruelCow (talk) 22:31, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

I deleted the file. It took the talk page with it. It's a shitty file, so I made it go away. -- En Ex (talk) 02:36, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
You deleted the talk, but not the file itself, that's why I was confused. --CruelCow (talk) 11:58, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
Oh. Odd. Well, not a problem anymore. -- En Ex (talk) 13:07, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

Meet the Team Videos

Before undoing the changes please come on IRC and discuss it with me. I proposed this a while ago and can't remember why or think of a reason I didn't do it myself. -- Lagg Backpack Stickybomb Launcher.png 01:34, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

Sorry for the last one

So where would it go then?--The preceding unsigned comment was added by Meenchawit (talk) • (contribs)

It was removed from the article because it is speculation. And please remember to sign all your posts, using 4 tildes: ~~~~ This adds your name and the time and date to the end of your post. -- En Ex (talk) 07:59, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
So what Heavy said became a speculation, So he has to say it clearly that he bought "custom parts for Sasha" to become fact? --Meenchawit 08:12, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
I think part of the problem is that right now everyone has the policy that things said in Poker Night are non-canon. :/ But since we had the trivia about Sasha being originally announced but then changed to the Iron Curtain, I figured it was pertinent to note that he still called it Sasha in the finished game. Mar 08:17, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

Hey I have already created a hidden page article. Why don't you take a look at the list and add more pages that is not on there. Thanks. Thespy 01:06, 7 December 2010 (UTC)

That's my goal later this month. -- En Ex (talk) 02:54, 7 December 2010 (UTC)

"I'm not going to attempt to get the hat.

I AM getting the hat." - Ex_Ex

Very inspiring for someone who is also going for it. Good luck with MTG, boring game. TF2 crosshair.png Fendermcbender 22:43, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

Thanks! I'm looking forward to the hat. I'm also looking forward to looking back at this in a few years and regretting absolutely nothing. -- En Ex (talk) 01:46, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

Sorry about the mishap earlier with the Blighted Beak page. I'm new at this, and I didn't realize you were deleting my addition to the trivia, so that was why I kept trying to re-add it. Only after I checked the history of the page did I see why it was disappearing. I'm sorry if I caused any inconvenience. Cronie 22:32, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

It's all cool. -- En Ex (talk) 10:13, 24 December 2010 (UTC)

My attempt to claim some credit for a discovery.

I didn't quite know how to proceed with this request.

When the Back Scratcher and Candy Cane were first made craftable, I started randomly crafting weapons together in my attempts to discover the crafting plans. When I did succeed to craft both, I immediately went to the Steam Forums to post my discoveries. As soon as I created that thread, I decided to attempt my first ever edit to the Official TF2 Wiki. As soon as I figured out how things worked, someone had already read my thread and listed the crafting plans on the Wiki. If you scroll down, you can see "gatherto" and "Jestersage" mention that they added the new plans to the Wiki after first hearing about it from my forum thread.

Right now I am attempting to claim credit for the discovery of (or at least, the first to announce the discovery on the forums) these two crafting plans. I realize I am brand new as an editor and nowhere near 400 edits to the Wiki, but I felt that if I were to succeed in gaining some credit for this discovery it would give me two great strides toward a Wiki Cap in the far future.

I just needed to get this off my chest and see if I could gain anything from it. Knowing you are uncredited for something you might have done first is a heavy burden.

Thanks for listening to me. Cronie 01:24, 24 December 2010 (UTC)

No content on a wiki is owned by one particular person and because of this nobody gets any more particular credit for a discovery than anyone else. But congratulations on your discovery, and know that you've helped a great number of people. Myself included. I crafted my Candy Cane. – Smashman (talk) 01:33, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
So whether it's discovering a new crafting schematic, adding a small piece of trivia or even correcting a spelling mistake, everyone receives the same amount of "credit" towards their Wiki Cap? I need to learn all this, being a new member and all. Thank you so much, I'm relieved. I was worried I had missed a chance at a large piece of "credit" or "reputation". Cronie 02:20, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
Smashman is right. Don't worry about getting credit for specific edits on the Wiki. And don't fret too much regarding the Wiki Cap. The people who earn the Wiki Caps will get them. -- En Ex (talk) 10:10, 24 December 2010 (UTC)

Telefrag Demostration Video

Hello.I am just here to say that i have had this completed video for the Telefrag uploaded for a while but it has not been reviewed yet.I was wondering if you could please take a look at it.

I am sorry if i am bothering you and you dont have the time. -Coneill987 -‎26 ‎December ‎2010 10:54PM

Hello. You can post that link over here in the weapon demonstration video talk page. Thank you for taking the time to create the video! -- En Ex (talk) 23:45, 26 December 2010 (UTC)

Okay, how is it redundant that the look and design of the Boston Basher is VERY OBVIOUSLY taken from a product available at many websites? I'd think it'd be rather relevant that the creator used an actual item to base the look of the Boston Basher. Radarnocturn 14:43, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

Look at the other links in the Boston Basher's trivia section. -- En Ex (talk) 14:45, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
To expand on my comment, the links to the Wikipedia articles discuss what the weapon is based on. The other links are, as others have noted, speculation, though I'm not denying the similarity. -- En Ex (talk) 14:49, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

Would it be better to state "The in game model for the Boston Basher is based off of a real world spiked mace club." and maybe provide a picture of it in a gallery section? That makes the need for a link unnecessary. The Wrench gives attribute to the real world item it's based off of, and two of Pyro's hats are based off of items from other sources. What would be the best way to inform others of the origin of the design for the Boston Basher? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Radarnocturn (talk) • (contribs)

The Wikipedia links do a good job of explaining the real-world basis for the inspiration for the weapon. -- En Ex (talk) 15:22, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

Team Fortress Offical Wiki Group on Second Life

Hello...recently i have created a Team Fortress Offical Wiki Group on Second Life to contribute to the Wiki.I would like to maybe have this group made offical. If you have a Second Life or know any other high level admins who are Administrators who would like to make this group offical could they please add "Xioan Askari" and i will send them a invite to the group. And yes i 100% made the group i swear on that. --Coneill987

What? Second Life? What's that got to with TF2? – Smashman (talk) 21:36, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
Just a group for wiki members and etc to hang out and stuff....nothing wrong with that right?--Coneill987
You are welcome to create a group there to collaborate on the Wiki. We are unlikely to endorse it as official though. -- Pilk (talk) 21:39, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
Hehe it would still be nice wouldnt it?It would help though if we could get some members to join :3 --Coneill987
What Pilk said is correct. Have fun with it, but we're not going to officially endorse it. -- En Ex (talk) 09:37, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

I've had a discussion with OluapPlayer after he removed some reponses on the Spy, Sniper, Soldier, Pyro, Demoman and Medic pages (and that's all that I know of, he may have done it too on the missing classes pages). It's concerning generaly Kill Assists and Round Victory (example), Pilk told me you are the one that went though every game files to know the events triggering a class response, so do you know if Oluap was right or wrong telling me those were wrong responses that never occured (when you did a kill assist for example) or you don't know and I'll have to write a mail to Valve? Killicon ambassadorhs unused.png Tturbo (T/C) 05:27, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

All of the kill assist lines are unused in-game, so they definitely belong in the unused line section. As for the Spy's primary weapon kill lines ("Sorry to 'pop-in' unannounced."), I'm not entirely sure. That one I'll have to look into. But everything else looks to be where it should be on the page. Please let me know if you have any other concerns about the response lines. -- En Ex (talk) 13:36, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

I never thought I would get the Wiki cap! Thanks for your congratulation. :)

Nobody at the wiki has any control over these matters - you'd best go to Steam Support and see what they can do. » Cooper Kid (blether) • (contreebs) 15:53, 8 December 2012 (PST)
