Template:Strange quality table

Hi, looks like we were doing similar work on this template at the same time, though with a different idea. I hope you don't mind me overwriting your edit. For more information, see the Talk page for the Template. Regards, --Itsacon 07:29, 23 March 2012 (PDT)

Unpainted images?

You've uploaded some pictures of unpainted styles and colors of miscellaneous items, such as the Blighted Beak and the Spectre's Spectacles. However, we already have versions of these available on the wiki. May I ask why did you upload them? Painted Vintage Merryweather 803020.pngFyahweather 11:17, 4 April 2012 (PDT)

Because now they are included in the gallery of painted images, it's best if they match. I'm aware of the issue with cramping in the infobox, and am planning to propose a fix for that that doesn't involve adding blank space to the images. rebmcr 11:25, 4 April 2012 (PDT)

Vita Saw

Alright, from the top. "Vita" means life in several languages, Spanish, Italian, and Latin. There has been some discussion over the correct usage of the the word "Vita" which does have roots in the English words "Vitality", "Vital", and "Vitamin", all which have the connotations of "Life".

As per the discussion, there is a general consensus that "vita" is readily associated with "life" in the English language. For completeness, all the possible translations need to be included, which conflicts with the Trivia Style Guide.

User Upgrade Signature.png 12:50, 11 May 2012 (PDT)

I see no discussion of the relevance of the trivia on the talk page, just an old discussion about pronunciation. User Rebmcr Sig.png 12:55, 11 May 2012 (PDT)
It shows that "vita" is readily associated with "life" or "vitality". There is also the association with the Vita-chambers from Bioshock which is explained has another connection with life. If it is necessary to say that vita is translated into Spanish as life, then arguments can be made saying that it also can be translated into Italian and Latin as life, which I feel makes the trivia more redundant than it already is. Hat info box

Hey man. I'm the guy who suggested putting Unusual quality on the hat info box template. I believe you said you were working on this? I was just wondering how that was going? P.S. I've put my support on your Wiki Cap nomination. Taser9001 04:27, 31 May 2012 (PDT)

Hi, thanks for the support! The project is coming along nicely - you can see the progress of the under-the-bonnet stuff at Template:Dictionary/quad; I'll be pushing an update to that for Hats tonight when I've finished compiling it, then I can start work on an example for using the data in the infobox. User Rebmcr Sig.png 04:30, 31 May 2012 (PDT)
You sir are excellent. I'm good with ideas, but implementing them... Well, I'm a thinker. XD Taser9001 05:49, 31 May 2012 (PDT)

Just checking on it again. :D Taser9001 02:30, 14 June 2012 (PDT)

Pictures for the Aperture Labs Hard Hat

You successfully uploaded the images for "A Mann's Mint" and "After Eight" for this hat, but they are different from the rest of the images. Too bright. Darkid (Talk | contribs) 05:50, 4 June 2012 (PDT)

RE about the separators:

Hello, Rebmcr. About the replacement of "," and "&", in Chinese we normally use ","(mentioned before) and "和" to replace it. The symbol "&" means "and" ("和" in Traditional Chinese). However, because you were talking about the Template:Availability, I will suggest using "&". It is as same as the English version, because many Taiwanese know what the symbol means and they often use it. There's only one thing that need to be noticed: the halfwidth and fullwidth forms problems.

I supposed that you understand the difference between "," and "," is not only the appearance. The Chinese comma (,) use more space than the halfwidth comma. Therefore the "&" and "&" is different due to the difference of occupied space, and most of the Chinese punctuation use fullwidth version. I think you could use "&", but you should change the symbol into fullwidth (&) before you add it as a replacement. You can reply at here if you have any further question, thanks for your asking!

    • Thanks ~www~. Am I correct in thinking that there are no spaces (as in actual extra space characters) around the punctuation? Also is this the same in Simplified and Traditional? I noticed they have different comma symbols in the existing template. User Rebmcr Sig.png 04:49, 6 June 2012 (PDT)
Yes, you are right. There is no spaces (_) around the fullwidth punctuation (ex. "_,_" ","). About the simplified version, though I can said some part of it is similar to Traditional Chinese, I am not sure what is their opinion in punctuation settings. In my aspect, they use the same punctuation as TChinese. However, since the SChinese part and their translators are inactive for a long time, I think the reason why they have different symbols is because there's no Chinese people in Wiki to care it. In sum, I do not know what they think about the symbols, so I think either ignore them (use the settings they already have) or use the same punctuation as TChinese will be fine. ~www~ 04:19, 7 June 2012 (PDT)

Gentleman's Service medal

The bug states that it "Does not appear." We can clearly see the image (indicating appearance *in game*) in the item box. Is this thus a more recent bug? Or are you referring to its appearance elsewhere? Darkid (Talk | contribs) 13:17, 8 June 2012 (PDT)

Yes, it is recent. User Rebmcr Sig.png 13:21, 8 June 2012 (PDT)
Since which patch? Or, if that's unknown, is there a known patch where it works? If so, the bug should read: "Does not appear in-game since at least {{patch name|Blah|Blah|Blah}}." Darkid (Talk | contribs) 13:24, 8 June 2012 (PDT)

Thanks for all

Written under the inspiration that the free will and the free word are applied to everything on the wiki<br As you maybe saw my nomination was revoked but fear not there is a worthy reason for it. My translations are not very bad, but still bad. My grammar is to much orientated onto the english one and still sucks.
So i just wanted to inform you, and all other backers that i liked your text which you wrote about but still it's without a meaning.
As an compensation for my harsh words i allow you to see my nomination discussion which was revoked.

May it help you to understand that when all 22 moderator discuss about a nomination that you only need to persuade the important moderators which have the right timezone, and still are active.

I move on and leave the wiki because i think no one cares about the "weaker" languages, and my suggestions and cries for help on my language are used as a sign of pestering against me. The long waits between nominations and the discussions and the denial of my opinions to make it better, made it clear to me that there is only one step to make the wiki more efficient and i mean not my grammar skill. I would like to have half of the wiki staff replaced with more active and more dedicated persons. Or even better no moderator at all and a general overlooking rule by all editors, the people. (i was the lonely overlooker in german...)
But as i know that this is not happening, and i'm not dedicated(<funny word) enough, the best is to stop my drone work and dont pester around anymore. I have no right to speak bad and upset anyone, but i can at least express to you what i'm doing and why i'm doing it.
You maybe think that this is a cheap and it is indeed cheap, but i think if you have one right, then it is the right to express your feelings and your reasoning to a person which back'ed you up. So at last i give you a great tipp: You should always consider: FreeXMan as your friend, he is an awesomely nice guy, and also Epic_Eric of course. The rest of the moderators are still an unwritten book to me, but with the right key you can unlock them maybe, i never got into these people's head.

So i wish you the best for the future on the wiki, but for me the wiki has died. Goodbye TheDoctor 18:07, 17 June 2012 (PDT)

Item quality names

Do you know why we are using a bunch of {{item name}} for item qualities all over the following templates? {{Hqc}} {{Mqc}} {{Wqc}} It seems completely pointless and just leads to errors like the one I had to clean up. As I understand it, that template should not be used in the middle of a localized phrase or sentence. Instead, for those cases, the template should just be expanded. I think the template only exists for baking localization in for those cases where there is no other language switching occurring at the container level. – fashnek (talk·c) 04:11, 24 July 2012 (PDT)

Good point. I'm almost done with rewriting them to be a lot simpler, so I'll bake it into that. User Rebmcr Sig.png 04:13, 24 July 2012 (PDT)

Item quality distribution templates on Item quality

You should probably split your templates to their own pages (in a similar manner as before with Item quality distribution) as they exceed the page include size when they are all placed on Item quality. It's also an overload of information for what should be a relatively simple page. i-ghost 10:11, 6 August 2012 (PDT)

A pair of bugs in {{Quad/list}}

Due to the inherent disorganization of this template, I cannot easily edit it (as I did not create it). However, I notice two bugs occuring:

  1. When referencing two crate series for a strange, the template inserts a "[1], & [2]" where it should insert "[1] & [2]".
  2. When reference two non-crate items (name tag and description tag) the template inserts "[1]& [2]" where it should insert "[1] & [2]".

About {{Wqc}}, {{Hqc}} and {{Mqc}}

If you think you did those templates an leave them is the good think, I think you are wrong. Please update them sometimes. I'm tried to update and clean the mess on templates and your ones are in those lists. User Hinaomi Hinaomi-sig.png Rikka Takanashi (talk) • (contributions) 09:46, 21 May 2013 (PDT)
