Hello, Ganon tf2!

Welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Official Wiki!

Here are a few links to get you started:

  • If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
  • If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style guide.
  • Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
    • To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
    • You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
  • When posting on an article's Talk page you should add four tilde symbols or ~~~~ onto the end.
    • This will add a signature and timestamp to your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
    • Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
    • When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
    • You can use the Signature Icon.png button in the editing toolbar to quickly add a signature.
  • If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for a staff member.
  • If you have trouble with anything on the wiki or you're not sure about a specific topic, feel free to join the IRC.
  • You can also customize your user page if you like.
    • When uploading images for use on your user page, please add the prefix User Ganon tf2 to the file's name.
    • Additionally, if you would like to add any self-made content to the wiki, please do so by adding the prefix User:Ganon tf2/ to the page title when you create the page.

Once again, welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Wiki!

Translation request

Hey Ganon,

I'm just cleaning up Category:Articles needing images and would need your help in the French section. Please take your time for it, I don't want to rush you as you're here for just 1 day. Nonetheless, when you become familiar with the wiki, here's what you could do to help me:

The page is Competitive Mode/fr. In this case the English page got overhauled, so it'd be best if you just wipe the current French translation and translate the current English article. If you need help translating it, please ask somebody on the IRC.

Thank you very much in advance! — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk|Contribs} 15:18, 6 April 2016 (PDT)

Thanks for translating that page! I've compiled a small list of things that you need to consider when translating pages (for the difference, see here):
  • If you've completely translated a page, you should remove the trans template from the top.
  • A special rule for translation applys to this template: List of maps. The correct translation would be , so just add a "|l1=translation-to-fr" behind the extising English term.
  • If there is an external link leading to an English page, please add en behind it, this will produce: (anglais).
  • For item wiki links, please use the templates item name and item link respectively. Examples:
    • "Competitive Matchmaking Beta Pass" in the original translation will become "Competitive Matchmaking Beta Pass", this produces: Passe de matchmaking compétitif bêta.
    • "Competitive Matchmaking Beta Pass" in the original translation will become "Competitive Matchmaking Beta Pass", this produces: Passe de matchmaking compétitif bêta.
  • Please don't forget to translate captions, like "Update history".
  • Categories at the end of each page also need the language tag without any French translation, so "" will become "".

Some notes on Bruce's Bonnet/fr

Hi there, I've just fixed your translation:

  1. Please use the "en-sound=yes" parameter in the quotation template since the sound you're linking to is in English.
  2. Don't forget to translate the Demoman link in the {item infobox}.
  3. Please check that the "item-kind" (also found in the infobox) is translated.
  4. Please localize the Wikipedia links correctly.
  5. Add en behind external links leading to English websites (excluding the Steam Community link in the sentence "This item was contributed to the Steam Workshop")

As always, feel free to ask for help, either by replying directly, adding me on Steam or asking on the IRC (which would be the most convenient, as we're both online ;) ).{ TidB | t | c | wt } 09:57, 10 April 2016 (PDT)

J'ai pas envie de te paraitre désagréable mais ...

Bonjour ! Cette phrase est un peu prétentieuse : "The ONLY french translator so I'm translating pages from english to french." Tu n'es pas seul à ton grand désespoir, je suis aussi là ;)
