Hi there - I see you reverted my post on the Concheror, just wondering why - I thought it was relevant as most people seem to pronounce it con-shh and you don't really get the conqueror word play like that. That's all! Cooper Kid (Blether)·(Contreebs) 21:11, 10 May 2011 (UTC)

To be honest, it's not really necessary. Conqueror is already pronounced with a hard "q". maggosh 00:46, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
That's my point - I've heard a lot of people pronounce it con-sher-er instead of conquerer. Cooper Kid (Blether)·(Contreebs) 11:49, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
Many people (myself included, for a little while) believed conch was pronounced "Consh", not "Konk". Perhaps we should simply include a pronunciation guide (Like we do for the Claidheamh Mòr) at the beginning and let people figure it out? --User Firestorm Flame.png Firestorm 14:25, 11 May 2011 (UTC)

Nzdjh is probably the more well known name, as is Daimao. It seems a lot harder to maintain the names if we go by what their Steam name is rather than the URL, since someone can change it whenever they want. Balladofwindfishes 17:33, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

So, let me guess...

The whole reaon why my information was deleted was because there was no reliable source, was there? I simply put in the info in the summary, adn I figure that's enough. I was in the process of getting a link, and another reliable source of info, and I get cut out. I understand, it's your duty to work this wiki, but please, can you let a bit up, man? All I'm trying to do is contribute to this as much as the next guy, and it honestly hurts getting in the work info removed. FenixChief 04:48, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

Hey man, I'm sorry, I know what it's like. Show me the link and we can call this square, eh? maggosh 04:50, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
First, here is the link to the countdown. Second, the Steam Nickname KRITZKAST FM-which is actually a publicity name for the owner of the Trade_Sky Server Taina Imatake-a Machinima maker and supposed master trader, and a finalist in the Saxxy's for comedy- has said that the hat was going to be given to anyone who listen to the live podcast. You can reach Taina, here: And also, Taina is a member of the official KritzKast group, Another note is that she's french, which could contribute in some way, since KritzKast is a mainly European group, since it's centered in The UK.

That's currently all the info I can infer from this, and with the mysteriousness of the KritzKast blog post, and the undocumented release of the Lo-Fi Longwave, it's mostly accurate, from what I can tell. Trying to be humble, of course. FenixChief 04:58, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

Hmm...why don't you swing by the IRC channel? The regulars there can help us settle this. maggosh 05:04, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
Alright. FenixChief 05:06, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

But the wiki's channel is free. ._. maggosh 05:12, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

Sniper Buttons

The basic strategy is for all types of players. The line "Zoom with the Sniper Rifle by hitting MOUSE2" is modified if you are a PC player if you use customised controls or a gamepad and is different if you play on a Mac with a mac mouse. Needless to say this phrase is also not used on the Xbox and PS3 versions. If you need to check this then you can easily do it yourself by changing Secondary fire to any button on the keyboard or controller of your choosing and see how all the statments change. Also if you do not asign a key it will say; 'you can zoom in your sniper rifle with (Unbound Key).MEDUNN 10:17, 23 July 2011 (PDT)

This is true, the description is coded to list what you currently have your secondary fire set to. Balladofwindfishes 10:19, 23 July 2011 (PDT)
The thing is, maggosh is trying to follow them exactly as they are written in-game. The tips are taken from the in-game tips found on the bottom left corner of loading screens. These aren't present in console versions of TF2. Should we go for accuracy or convenience? --SilverHammer 10:23, 23 July 2011 (PDT)
I'd suggest using a tooltip, so when you hover your cursor above MOUSE2, it reads something along the lines of "If using a custom control scheme, this will change to the assigned key." maggosh 10:25, 23 July 2011 (PDT)
But they are also different for PC users with custom keyboard setting, custom mouse types or using a gamepad. It is also different for the Mac if the user uses the Macs single button mouse.MEDUNN 10:25, 23 July 2011 (PDT) didn't read what I just said, did you? maggosh 10:26, 23 July 2011 (PDT)
Tooltip on MOUSE2 seems like best possible solution. --SilverHammer 10:28, 23 July 2011 (PDT)
Yep, tooltip is a good solution. We should just use whatever the default set-up is on the PC, and then use the tooltip. Balladofwindfishes 10:29, 23 July 2011 (PDT)
I was making the point that Secondary Fire is both more accurate and more helpful, which is surly the point of basic stategy. It saves people having to work out what button on the gamepad or single-button mouse this relates to.MEDUNN 10:30, 23 July 2011 (PDT)
I don't understand why you want the tooltip option, why go for the more inaccurate and unhelpful option. The people who will be reading basic strategy will be the kind of people who need things to be clear, not looking for button that don't relate to their version. Valve realised this, that's why all it's tips are not hardcoded to say MOUSE 2 and the like.MEDUNN 10:34, 23 July 2011 (PDT)
How exactly is using the tooltip inaccurate and unhelpful? maggosh 10:38, 23 July 2011 (PDT)
We don't generally assume on here that people will change their control scheme. It's the easiest way to word it, and to keep it more true to what most players would see to keep it the other way and use a tooltip. Balladofwindfishes 10:39, 23 July 2011 (PDT)
Its inaccurate because your wrongly assuming that this is the default for everyone and it is not. It is unhelpful because the person who is looking at basic controls needs to know how to do things telling them to click MOUSE 2 when their mouse doesn't have a MOUSE 2 or they are not using a mouse at all because of platform resriction or personal choice. I really think Valve got it right not to have any instructions or gameplay hints using hard coded keys or emphasizing the defaults. They clearly deliberatly accommdated people with all types of controls and I think we should try to emulate Valve in this way.MEDUNN 10:45, 23 July 2011 (PDT)
How is it inaccurate did you even read what they wrote. Anyway it's best to put a tooltip in there like you said. Violencejr123(talk | contribs) 10:58, 23 July 2011 (PDT)
I see we've settled on imposing one set of controls on everyone. A great shame and a missed opportunity to learn from Valve's ethos. Instead, we've gone down the all to easy route of fan elitism and 'correct' ways to play.MEDUNN 11:01, 23 July 2011 (PDT)
Violencejr123, did you even read what I wrote? It is accurate because you're assuming it is everyones default. It is not. Therefore, it is not an accurate standard assigned key.MEDUNN 11:04, 23 July 2011 (PDT)

It's the default control scheme, dude. --SilverHammer 11:05, 23 July 2011 (PDT)

Not for everyone, it isn't.MEDUNN 11:06, 23 July 2011 (PDT)
Do you know what default means, MEDUNN? --SilverHammer 11:06, 23 July 2011 (PDT)
Yep, do you know what different platforms means?MEDUNN 11:07, 23 July 2011 (PDT)
And we've circumvented any issues that may come up because of console players with the tool tip. It honestly looks like you're fighting maggosh just for the sake of fighting maggosh. Why isn't the tool tip enough, MEDUNN? It seems like the perfect solution, especially consider the tips aren't present in the console version. --SilverHammer 11:10, 23 July 2011 (PDT)
How was I fighting maggosh? He changed secondary fire to Mouse 2 saying it was verbatum, so I went to his talk page and explained that it wasn't because Valve had made the statments change due to loadout. He then asked me why I thought tooltip was a bad idea and I answered as fully as I could. That is the sum total of our interactions. I don't see how you can say this is fighting, its not like I've insulted him in anyway or tried to impose my own view, when you've made up your to do soemthing different (though I admit I had actually forgotton we were on someones talk page and not the sniper talk page). Anyway, as for why I don't like the tooltip option, I'd just be reiterating myself from earlier about it being less helpful and unversal than it could easily be. Suffice to say, Valve decided to make it's basic strategy as universally helpful regardless of a palyers method of playing or equipment, we've decided that the PC default is the correct way, I prefer Valve's way.MEDUNN 11:24, 23 July 2011 (PDT)

Short Circuit

I commented on what you said on the discussion page for the Short Circuit, and I think that we can't really say whether or not this is a bug at this time since the description doesn't specify enemy projectiles. If Valve does not issue a "fix" for it sometime relatively soon, I think it's safe to say that it was intentionally designed that way. ButteredToast 08:40, 19 August 2011 (PDT)

Future articles in the past, interested?

Soo i saw your triad pack edit and wanted to ask you this: What do you think about every other article about the new items? Every article has it listed: "This item was awarded in Genuine quality to players who pre-purchased Sleeping Dogs on Steam before August 14, 2012." < so i guess this is also timelord science.
