Hello, XSuicid3!

Welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Official Wiki!

Here are a few links to get you started:

  • If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
  • If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style guide.
  • Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
    • To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
    • You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
  • When posting on an article's Talk page you should add four tilde symbols or ~~~~ onto the end.
    • This will add a signature and timestamp to your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
    • Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
    • When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
    • You can use the Signature Icon.png button in the editing toolbar to quickly add a signature.
  • If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for a staff member.
  • If you have trouble with anything on the wiki or you're not sure about a specific topic, feel free to join the IRC.
  • You can also customize your user page if you like.
    • When uploading images for use on your user page, please add the prefix User XSuicid3 to the file's name.
    • Additionally, if you would like to add any self-made content to the wiki, please do so by adding the prefix User:XSuicid3/ to the page title when you create the page.

Once again, welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Wiki!

Your patch note translation

Hello and welcome to the TF Wiki!

Great to see another active translator in the Polish section. Regarding your patch note edit, I've corrected it and will give you a few tips how to make your edits even better! For the comparison, see here.

  • Please add en after any link that leads to an external page that is not available in Polish but instead only in English (e.g. TF2 blog). This will produce: (angielski).
  • The easiest way to link to Polish items is using the item link template. If you for example want to link Support Spurs to Polish, instead of writing Ostrogi Oparcia just change it to this: Support Spurs, it will automatically link to the Polish page and show up the Polish name. So this produces: Ostrogi Oparcia
  • If there is a wikipedia link in your translation, you need to link it to the Polish wikipedia section. Just click the English wikipedia link, check if there is a Polish version of the article and then insert the name in the wikipedia link. So w:Buffer overflow should become: Przepełnienie bufora.
  • Also you just let some links in English. When you're translating, please change every link to Polish.

That's it already, have fun translating! :)

If you want to respond, please answer in English, though I corrected some of your phrases, I don't speak Polish.

If you've got further questions regarding your language section, please ask the other Polish translator Danio19978 — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk|Contribs} 06:45, 13 April 2016 (PDT)

Hey again, great to see that you read through my post! Just a quick reminder that w:pl: may only be used for wikipedia links. If you want to translate Steam Workshop, just continue to use Polish translation fo that as always, don't do something like w:pl:Steam Workshop. Happy translating! — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk|Contribs} 09:00, 13 April 2016 (PDT)

Thank You M8, I started translating cause my PC is down. I have a small laptop so I decided to crate TF Wiki as a translator :) Really thanks for this tips, I will use them. Suicide 09:14, 13 April 2016 ( PDT )

recent translation

Hello, please look closely at the corrections I made here, they need to become clear.

  1. Every internal link needs to be translated. An internal link is the one in brackets [[]]. Even if there doesn't exist a Polish version of this article, just link it. For example Decorated => Dekorowana, even if this produces a red link, it doesn't matter. Never use en after an internal link. This is just for external links to English pages like for example this one.
  2. Don't forget to translate the "item-kind" parameter in the infobox as well as "classes" (if it's there) and any other internal links (for example Trade-Up in this case.)
  3. Don't forget the "nav" and "Category" lines and the end of each page, in this case Tool Nav
  4. The displaytitle gets added automatically to item pages when they're added to the Dictionary. I added the string for this item here for you as an example. When you add something new, you need to wait a few minutes for the change to propagate.
  5. Please use ~~~~ to sign edits you do on a discussion page like here, you don't need to add anything on your like your name, date or time, it's done automatically with those tildes.

That's it. — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk|Contribs} 08:40, 14 April 2016 (PDT)
