Hello, Fisherboy800!
Welcome to the Official Team Fortress Wiki!
Here are a few links to get you started:
- If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
- If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style guide.
- Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
- To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
- You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
- When posting on an article's Talk page, you should add four tilde symbols or ~~~~ onto the end.
- This will add a signature and timestamp to your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
- Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
- When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
- You can use the
button in the editing toolbar to quickly add a signature.
- If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for a staff member.
- If you have trouble with anything on the wiki or you're not sure about a specific topic, feel free to join the IRC.
- You can also customize your user page if you like.
- When uploading images for use on your user page, please add the prefix User Fisherboy800 to the file's name.
- Additionally, if you would like to add any self-made content to the wiki, please do so by adding the prefix User:Fisherboy800/ to the page title when you create the page.
Once again, welcome to the Team Fortress Wiki!

Welcome (and some tips)
Howdy there, I just wanted to say that I greatly appreciate the locations, as well as the augmenting images that you've added to Maul, great job there :D. However, you do need to improve on some things in that regard. First of, when uploading files, especially images for Maps, you need to add categories and a proper license. For categories, simply type "(double square brackets)Category: insert category here (double square brackets)" in the summary field when uploading a file. In this case, the proper category was: [[Category:Maul images]]. Finally, you should also add a license to every image, which in this case was a simple Screenshot.
- Additionally, one of your images: "File:VSH Maul Sweet Homegoods.png" has the snipping tool visible, you should probably redo that one before I get to it >:D. Hope you don't take this too much to heart and keep up the good work. Lolimsogreat21 (talk) 04:09, 26 December 2024 (UTC)Lolimsogreat21
- OH sorry, thank you for the pointers man. I see you've already fixed the category and licensing issues and I will be mindful in the future. I also fixed the screenshot issue before you mentioned it here. Fisherboy800 (talk) 04:49, 26 December 2024 (UTC)
- Remember to indent your replies using colons.
- Also, simply using
{{mapimg}}
(see documentation on how to use it) for map images is much easier (but remember to not add a license from the drop-down menu). - When you notice you've messed up an image, don't reupload the file under a different name. At the bottom of the original file's page there is a button that allows you to upload a new version.
- Please also take a look at Help:Taking screenshots. Screenshots should use the in-game screenshot feature, not Windows' Snip & Sketch.
- And finally, the images should be named with their actual names in the file, e.g. "Maul RED spawn" instead of "VSH Maul RED spawn".

Saxton Hale responses
Hi there,
Please name the files appropriately, and not just the file names from the .bsp. They should contain the name of the character (and the map if it's map-specific). E.g. "Saxton Hale Round start long 01 Maul.mp3". | s | GrampaSwood
(talk) (contribs) 00:24, 28 December 2024 (UTC)
- I apologize, I kept their original file names that way because that is the way the others are. I don't think I will go through the undertaking of renaming all of those other files but for the ones I have done I can. Fisherboy800 (talk) 00:34, 28 December 2024 (UTC)
- Checking now, I don't see a way to edit the original file uploads I made. Nothing I can find on the help page about editing uploads. Would I need to have to make entirely new files and rename them to fix this? Fisherboy800 (talk) 04:54, 28 December 2024 (UTC)
- You can move a file through: More-> Move and edit it to the name you want, the original file page will turn into a redirect link, mark the redirect link with {{delete}} to notify the mods to delete it. Also remember to change the file link on every page that uses the file.
- Thank you :)

Demo template
Heyo, on the demo template you definitely made on your own and totally didn't copy. For it to work properly you will need to have CSS permission. You would need to ask a staff member and get CSS access. Mediarch ♥ Talk ♥ My Edits 05:04, 13 May 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for appreciating my intuitive and well designed demonstrations tab that let there be no doubt I made. Uhm it works well enough tbh, I *ahem* copied it because I didn't want to do hardwork to have a way to show off my demonstration contributions lol. I may in the future though thanks for giving me that advice (and thanks for the demo template SUCKER HAHAHAHAHAH) Fisherboy800 (talk) 05:09, 13 May 2025 (UTC)

- Thank you my friend, I am glad my efforts have been recognized of all the VSHing and smackorolling I’ve been doing. That being said, could you revoke this for now? I don’t deserve it until all the VSH hellfire sounds get put in.

- Feel fre to do anything. That's your talk page, but in my opinion, you already reserved that wikichievement not by amount, but with correct audio extraction and incredible quality!

Hi there,
I've completed your request to review your demonstrations. I'm waiting to hear back from Ashe before I mark them as needing to be re-done or being approved, so no need to record the clips immediately. | s | GrampaSwood

Woah I am racking these up like a North Korean military general holy cow. Thank you so much! I'd give yah your own Wikichievement for creating the Citadel page with the high quality and high detail locations but I see Kibblekip beat me to the punch. 03:55, 28 July 2025 (UTC)

Some notes about the recent Aquarius edits
Hi there,
When adding the same reference multiple times, you can use name="refname"
to assign the same references multiple times. It looks much cleaner and requires less work on your end too, though adding the same reference multiple times is not necessary if you list them under a single bullet point (as done on the Aquarius article). It would look like this:<ref name="austin powers">[reference here]</ref>
Which can then be put in other places by typing <ref name="austin powers"/>
.
It is also not necessary to specify 'this map' or 'on Aquarius' (both on the map article and on the strategy article), as it is obvious the map is being talked about. | s | GrampaSwood

Your request
I've completed your request, it's just a minor change you need to make to the final clip, the rest is fine imo. | s | GrampaSwood

Weapon stats history
Do you want to collab on this project and finish it? Denied (Talk) 09:08, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
- I am flattered you’ve reached out for this great task Mr. Denied TF2wiki, I would love to collaborate on this project as I think its a really interesting and important. Sadly, I do not believe I would be able to contribute to any significant degree basically until the holiday season as I am starting a semester with more time intensive classes than I am used to and I do not have my PC setup where I currently live. I am sorry if this deters you from attempting this herculean effort, but if you do I would be happy to help in the ways I can during the next few weeks (I particularly wanna research Spy’s weapon balance history).
04:26, 3 September 2025 (UTC)
Are you sure you know how to do it? Looking at your work, it looks like a combination of current and previous stats mixed together, instead of showing how they looked on release and changed over the years, up to the last update. Look again at HatMann's and my work. Denied (Talk) 11:24, 18 September 2025 (UTC)
- Forgive me, I have seen the error of my former ways. I understood weapon descriptions in the past were different and have been adjusted, rewritten, and have had slight edits since their addition to the game even without balance changes. I had this concept on my mind when making these additions, but had failed to do so in most cases before implementing them. In the cases I did, I realize that I only included them when a weapon received a change that affected its balance. I will do my best to right these previous mistakes and will apply proper vigilance to include them into the future.

Wallpaper reply
Thank you very much for your kind words about my picture! I made it last year after realizing that I'd never done anything containing all 9 mercs in it. I was super proud of it at the time, but as the months went on and my skills improved, I started to like it less. I noticed many small errors that bugged me, so I decided to finally remove it. I do plan on trying to remake it though, or something similar. But again, thanks a bunch for giving me feedback, it means a lot!! :) Submackeen (talk) 07:26, 19 September 2025 (UTC)
- I understand, I was just trying to be nice is all. If you don't like it anymore, you don't like it anymore. If you ever do decide to redo it like you said that's pretty rad too.

Strategy article consistency
Hi there,
The standard for the title is 'General Strategy (All Classes)', did you change this to 'General strategy (All Classes)' on every article? | s | GrampaSwood
(talk) (contribs) 10:10, 29 September 2025 (UTC)
- Yes. I am checking one of the articles that was written beforehand and it appears this way. I can correct it, but are you sure that having strategy capitalized is the best approach? On every article the strategy of "Class-specific strategy" had all been lowercase, even on the ones with the "standard". Additionally, when looking at the subtitles of other pages with two or more words I have not found a time where the second word of a title has been capitalized, especially in the instance where strategy is used as the "Basic strategy" section of every main class page is formatted this way (ex:Scout). It may be better to just change the "standard" to be the strategy lowercased, but if you still insist it be the other way around I can change these pages to reflect that.
