Hello, AsterLak!

Welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Official Wiki!

Here are a few links to get you started:

  • If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
  • If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style guide.
  • Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
    • To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
    • You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
  • When posting on an article's Talk page you should add four tilde symbols or ~~~~ onto the end.
    • This will add a signature and timestamp to your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
    • Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
    • When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
    • You can use the Signature Icon.png button in the editing toolbar to quickly add a signature.
  • If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for a staff member.
  • If you have trouble with anything on the wiki or you're not sure about a specific topic, feel free to join the IRC.
  • You can also customize your user page if you like.
    • When uploading images for use on your user page, please add the prefix User AsterLak to the file's name.
    • Additionally, if you would like to add any self-made content to the wiki, please do so by adding the prefix User:AsterLak/ to the page title when you create the page.

Once again, welcome to the Team Fortress 2 Wiki!

Warning red.png Please make use of the Show preview button. It gives you a preview of the edit you are making, allowing you to perfect your changes before you save the page. You can edit the whole article by clicking the edit button at the top of the page, which is preferable to editing multiple sections consecutively. Please note that ignoring this may result in a block!

Reserved user info boxes

Hi AsterLak,

I've gone ahead and removed the userbox {{User Wiki staff}} from your user page, as this userbox is reserved for staff members only. For a full list of Team Fortress Wiki staff members, see Help:Group rights.

While there is no restriction put in place (as of right now) to prevent users from adding certain userboxes to their user page, please note that these userboxes ({{User Wiki bot}}, {{User Wiki staff}}, {{User Wiki valve}}, etc.) are meant as a "badge of proof", and by having them on your user page, it may cause confusion to other users and will appear as misleading.

Please refrain from using such userboxes, and try to stick to userboxes that truly describe you. Thanks. — Wookipan (talk | contribs) 19:28, 14 May 2023 (UTC)

Hi AsterLak,

Pictogram info.png  Please make use of the Show preview button. It gives you a preview of the edit you are making, allowing you to perfect your changes before you save the page. You can edit the whole article by clicking the edit button at the top of the page, which is preferable to editing multiple sections consecutively.

YossefTalk 12:10, 15 May 2023 (UTC)

Please use the Show Preview feature, instead of editing multiple sections, this is the third time you were told this. Ignoring this may result in a ban. YossefTalk 14:21, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
Hello. I didn't ignore it, but tried to solve the problem. Thanks for attention. AsterLak (talk) 16:07, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
Please note that it also mentions editing the whole article rather than just a small part of it, as currently you are spamming both the Recent Changes log as well as the history of the page. Having to go back through all of those edits will be a pain in the future, please edit the whole page by clicking "edit" at the top rather than editing each section individually.

Good. It's still hard for me to get used to it, but I'm trying. I did as you wrote. Please check. AsterLak (talk) 16:15, 15 May 2023 (UTC)

Hello. When can I get a Wiki cap and will I be able to get it? AsterLak (talk) 10:45, 16 May 2023 (UTC)

Please see this page on how to obtain the Wiki Cap.

Hello. Can I remove the translation update notification from this article? I translated the whole article. https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Tournament_Medal/ru AsterLak (talk) 12:37, 21 May 2023 (UTC)

Hi,
Yes, in general, if an article is fully translated, any user can remove the {{update trans}} tag. YossefTalk 12:41, 21 May 2023 (UTC)

Hello. When I was translating an article about the strategy, I noticed that when I specify about Освободитель, for some reason it says that the page was not found, although it exists. How to fix this bug? AsterLak (talk) 08:48, 22 May 2023 (UTC)

When creating links, please use [[Liberty Launcher/ru|Освободитель]] instead of [[Освободитель]].
GrampaSwood (talk) 08:55, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
I'd like to add in what GrampaSwood mention:
I highly suggest the use of the string {{item link|ENGLISH NAME}}, when translating item names with links.
Using the Spanish (/es) section as an example:
  • If you use {{item link|Buff Banner}}, the wiki will automatically translate the name into Estandarte de Ánimo.
    • But if you want to translate just the text name, you can use {{item name|ENGLISH NAME}}.
Same rule applies for updates:
  • {{update link|ENGLISH NAME}}
  • {{update name|ENGLISH NAME}}
For further information, I suggest you on reading these articles about translation swtiching and language translation.
