The Fourth Annual Saxxy Awards is a Team Fortress 2 contest announced on October, 2, 2013. The event is based on that of the previous two years, the first annual and second annual Saxxy awards.

The categories are "Best Comedy", "Best Action", "Best Drama", "Best Short" and "Best Overall". A short category was added this year to give a better chance to those who make great videos under a minute. This year all entries needed to be made with Source Filmmaker, so no films from the Replay Editor could be accepted.

The Rules

  • Entries must be no longer than 5 minutes, except for entries to the Short category, which can be no longer than 1 minute.

Each entry must be at least 720p. Entries must be rendered using the Source Filmmaker, although those renders can be further edited with post-production tools for titling and other effects. Entries must be submitted using the Source Filmmaker's Submit Video to Saxxy Awards menu option. Only entries submitted between Sep. 17, 4:00 PM and Sep. 24, 4:00 PM PST will be considered. (between 00:01 Sep. 18 and 23:59 Sep. 24, GMT). Voting begins Sep. 24, and continues until Sep. 29 Winners, selected by Valve from the community-chosen nominees, will be announced Oct. 1. All co-creators must be finalized by voting deadline to be considered. You are free to use any Valve IP. If you use any non-Valve IP, you must be the copyright owner or have explicit permission from the owner and include a URL to the included work or creator's online presence in the description of your entry. This includes music, character likeness, etc. Any submissions found to be infringing non-Valve IP will be disqualified. Multiple submissions per person are allowed.
