"Saluting the Fallen" is one of the song titles featured on the official Team Fortress 2 Soundtrack, listed as track number 33. Added in the May 1, 2020 Patch, it is a tribute to Rick May, the voice actor of the Soldier, who passed away on April 8, 2020 due to COVID-19.[1] It is an honor salute of Taps, a bugle call of United States Armed Forces that is traditionally performed at United States military funerals. The call is preceded by a solemn fanfare of four drum ruffles. For the duration of the tribute, this track played on the Main Menu alongside the Soldier class image on every start of the game.

Update history
- Added as a tribute to Rick May, voice of the Soldier.
- A soundtrack with similar genre, Rocket Jump Waltz, are both original Team Fortress 2 soundtracks that are both a tribute to the Late Richard (Rick) May.
- The soundtrack has a military-like tune with drums, trumpets, and a few more; its genre and tune match perfectly for when a soldier or a comrade in the United States Military or any force, passes away, along with other tributes, such as saluting.
