Everyone is so excited for this new Quality, the Tobor. Before this update we had just an unusued Texture and some Easter Eggs, and part of the TF2 community didn't know what exatly was this "tobor". Well, for everyone who doens't know what's the Tobor, I'll put here a short description:

The Tobor (Robot if you read it reversed) is an scrapped texture, and it has been removed with the Engineer Update. Also, you was able to see a poster in a hidden room near BLU's second point of the Foundry map, saying auTO-BORax (tobor inside). Lastly, you may associate some photos, found in the hidden room behind RED's spawn of Foundry, with a Robot attack to the RED team.

So, now that you know the story about the Tobor, let's say what I think about this Tobor. There are some cluse about a MvM update (Mann vs Machine), like sounds and references to the Tobor, [http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2687110 here] you can see a thread showing everything connected to Tobor and the MvM update.

But don't forget that with this update it has been added the Tobor_a as Quality, not as item. Do you remember the last Australian Christmas 2011? There was the Festive Weapons, a second type of the stock weapons. Probably this Tobor_a is similar to the Festive "Quality", weapons that has a secondary quality, obtainable just opening "summer crates". IMHO, Valve is exploiting the summer to do a Major update, with the Robots and the Pyro as protagonists.

More information?

...such as, where in the GCF is this found? ~ lhavelund (talkcontrib) 00:43, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

team fortress 2 materials.gcf

Unsure how to put on page in a not ugly fashion. --Mechlord 11:01, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

still in the gcf?

Seems to still be in the .gcf file. Was it actually removed or did it make a comeback? --Tschumann 01:29, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

Tobor is the upgrade machine

It's seen on MvM Day 2 and is most likely the machine used to upgrade your weapons. I assume that tobor_a quality is used for upgraded weapons and completed perhaps for fully upgraded items. Only time will tell. Kazzymodus 02:19, 15 August 2012 (PDT)

Tobor is actually NOT the upgrade bot. The upgrade bot features more orbs than Tobor's file would suggest, and an orange orb on the lever that is not in his files. Furthermore, Tobor seems to be scorched beyond repair and does not feature the writing on the side of the Upgrade Bot. Case closed. BombingPyro (talk) 20:00, 21 July 2014 (PDT)

Tobor may be something bigger

String this together: unused red-team robots, an unused update board (see: Talk:Unused content, and an unused scary-as-hell texture for what might be a sentry. Anything weird about this? Moo hoo ha ha ha. BombingPyro (talk) 19:56, 21 July 2014 (PDT)

The page already says that it was used for third party testing and that it's been removed from the game, it's entirely irrelevant to any of that. --Omolong (talk) 20:10, 21 July 2014 (PDT)

Robot Sentry?

It's marked as Robot backwards, appears to be a Sentry Upgrade, and was during an MvM centered update. ...maybe it was a sentry to be deployed by the engineer bots? A robot only one?
