why you deleted it? I am translating it in my language for free...I try very hard...I like job like this. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Tonikas (talk) • contribs) 20:31, 31 October 2010

SEB, how I could join and start translating how you said the game into my language, I could gather my countrie's community, because it would be easy to gather good translators, I know them well. How I could make an apply to translating to lithuanian language? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Tonikas (talk) • contribs) 20:36, 31 October 2010

Patch layout using {{#language:}}...

Is a bit of a problem. As CruelCow pointed out on IRC, when using a different source language, it will show up in the local language, when {{#language:}} is used. Here's an example (it should say "Englisch", not "English"), and here's the relevant docs. Doesn't look like there's a way to display in the currently defined active language. New template? I'm thinking something like {{Localise|{{{sourcelang}}}|{{{locallang}}}, but it seems like that'd just be a big matrix of options, which sounds like no fun. ~ lhavelund (talkcontrib) 14:13, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

  • When yes when it will not be longer obtainable or it will be obtainable permanently ?

Please answer my questions, and post answers to my talk page. -Lower111 00:03, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Japanese Progress

Considering you were one of the folks who took notice of my contributions, I think I'll be keeping in touch with you a bit more frequently.... Anyways, as my progress stands, I started doing the Soldier hats earlier today, but quickly got frustrated and decided to take on a more rewarding task. The Pyro page is done on the Japanese portion of the Wiki, and expect the Demoman one and MAYBE the Heavy one to be done by tomorrow. I'll be keeping you updated as I progress. Keep in touch, ja? -- Krizzle 0 07:12, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Sure. seb26 [talk] 08:43, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
Just a quick update before I head to bed (I'd do more, but my back and head are killing me @_@). So far in the past few days, I've been able to do the following:
-Translate Pages: Pyro, Demoman, Heavy, Medic (Done by 3waves), Sniper, Spy, Hats (Redone due to major Gramatical errors), Miscellaneous Items, Game Modes, All Scout hats, All Soldier Hats, all Pyro Hats, Various Templates ((HatNav, Class Hat Tables, etc)), Some Taunt Kill Pages (Work in progress), and the Paint Can page. I'll keep you updated as more is done. -- Krizzle 0 09:56, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
Awesome work, keep it up =] seb26 [talk] 09:57, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

my translation

Hello seb, thank you for puting a notice on my translation i know i did it a bit wrong in terms of the other but thats because i couldent find some information on the wiki. i would recommend you have a wiki translator section where all different commands and templates are. unless there already is 1 because then i'd love to get that link.Elkid0 16:22, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

The global infobox

How's it coming along? RJ mentioned you had some ideas going, and I think it's pretty essential we get it up soonish. ~ lhavelund (talkcontrib) 17:57, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

It's pretty much finished. I'll talk to Pilk tonight about rolling it out. seb26 [talk] 21:39, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

Mann Co. Supply Crate

I removed the link to the Google Spreadsheet. The information provided by the spreadsheet is derived from Toahpt's SPUF thread, so any mention of the spreadsheet needs to include his name... Regardless of that, the statistics posted in the spreadsheet for Series 4,5,6 were incapable of providing guidance on drop rates due to the sample size. I prefer to have at least 500 crates before a wiki page quotes the stats. Schmoe 03:57, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

RE: Community-contributed items

Really? I was curious as to why it was doing that on some pages, and yet, not on a bunch of other pages. I was looking into it, but I couldn't make heads or tails of the coding, and figured I shouldn't touch anything in regards to templates. Thanks for telling me ahead of time! --Vaught 07:50, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

Aww, thank you! I try my best to help as much as I can. And I'm not stopping! --Vaught 07:55, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

Game modes/pt-br

Hi, sorry but I didn't understand what you mean... I've copied the brazilian portuguese Game Modes article and created a original portuguese one, because it didn't have a version. I also did the same thing to the Main Menu article, which I translated myself. I've just copied the artciles because, really, there's no difference between the two languages, a brazilian can perfectilly read a portuguese article and vice-versa. I'd like to suggest that the portuguese languages be merged, in my opinion we really don't need different articles for them. Allukard 07:28, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

No problem. I've posted my thoughts about merging the two languages on the Language Translation's discussion page if you're interested. Allukard 07:39, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

Template:Article_missing_translation

This template doesn't seem to be actually used on untranslated pages. It's been translated into Finnish, but Quality/fi, for example, just displays an English message - a different message from the English text used in the template, in fact. Am I missing something? NVis 22:51, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

I have not yet implemented the template yet, because at the time there had been no language strings added, and since then it has slipped my mind. I will update the interface page now to use the template now, though, thank you for taking the time to translate it. seb26 [talk] 04:24, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

Dutch display titles

Recently, a large number of Dutch display titles for hats were removed. This means that all the titles of the Dutch hat pages are their English name with a language tailer ("Cowboyhoeden" became "Texas Ten Gallon/nl," for example). I heard from WindPower that you may have plans of integrating the display title into the infobox and is why all the Dutch pages are the way they are. Is this so? FlotsamX 00:15, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

I'm going to re-add this back into the template now (I initially left it out as I had concerns about conflicting titles, but I believe now that it is no longer an issue). seb26 [talk] 04:28, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

Moving pages

I don't really know who I should ask about it, but I saw that you are moving incorrect pages, so I think that it should be you. I'm wondering which form is correct: "Template:Golden_Wrench_owners" or "Template:Golden_Wrench_owner" because part of them(templates) have ending "s": Golden Wrench owners Polycount Pin owners and other haven't got "s": Wiki Cap owner Self-made item owner Community Weapon owner

I decided to not move it and ask you, because moving templates causes obligate to edit all pages, which include it. For me it should be ending without "s", like other old templates. Maybe for now this differences are not so important, but when will be 20 templates(or more) for lists this can make a chaos. Szumin (talk)(contrib) 23:19, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

I've moved both templates with the "s" in their name. It shouldn't be a problem because the software creates a redirect on the page of the old name, meaning that any articles using the template with the older name will still function the same way. seb26 [talk] 23:26, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

Translation progress title has some Spanish I think?

If you check out Team_Fortress_Wiki:Translation_progress The title has some Spanish (?): Desarrollo de la traducción. Is that supposed to be there? - Alsoodani 22:37, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

Pictogram tick.png Done: The problem was that Team_Fortress_Wiki:Translation_progress/es uses a display title and is transcluded in Translation progress. I've added a second displaytitle at the bottom of Translation progress to override it with the english name again. It's a bit of a hack, but IMHO it's fine. --CruelCow (talk) 22:58, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

Date formatting

Hi, I've been told you're the guy to ask this. Concerning date formatting on Template:Wiki Cap owner:

  1. Is there a way to use (translated) month names in other languages?
  2. For registered users, is it possible to use the preferred date formatting from the preferences?

Differences between watches

Hi seb, can i upload the timespice's original image (blood version)?. For ilustrative Intentions between both versions --TordusKing 03:32, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

I've undeleted the image and re-added it back to the page, and I added it to the English article. seb26 [talk] 04:13, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
Thanks --TordusKing 03:22, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

Image Categories

Your opinion? -Shine 22:41, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

I've deliberately left off most of those categories because I believe a majority of images in them are user images or images that do not otherwise need any additional categories. seb26 [talk] 04:41, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

RTL editing works for Templates, but they don't show up in RTL

RTL editing in the Templates work fine, however the template page itself is still in LTR form for some reason.

If we look at the Template webpage: Template:Spy_Nav/ar:

{{Template:Spy_Nav/ar}}

Notice that both the Template page and the template are still in LTR form. An example of this would be the chart titles on the left like أسلحة (weapons) (the first category) should be on the right.

The Spy Nav should look like the Spy Nav on the bottom of this page: Spy_achievements/ar. Do you see the difference between the spy nav in it's respective template and when it is inserted on the Spy achievements page? Because the whole Spy achievements/ar article is RTL, it forces the Spy Nav/ar chart to RTL, flipping the side titles to the right.

Now you might be saying what's the point of making the template page RTL, since inserting the chart to an /ar article flips the chart correctly anyways. If you notice, the words on the Spy nav in Spy_achievements/ar are coming out left to right. The side titles are correctly flipped but the information inside the box is not. I believe this is because the template page itself is still in LTR. Changing the actual template page to RTL should solve the problem.

I'll be leaving for home right now, so if you want to discuss the problem in IRC or something, I won't be available for another 2-3 hours.

tl;dr: /ar Templates allow for RTL editing, but the template pages themselves do not show not in RTL, but in LTR. Switching the template pages to appear in RTL should solve the problem.

Thank you for reading,

- Alsoodani 23:12, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

I've updated the main navbox template so that the direction is changed by itself on Arabic pages, thank you for informing me of this. seb26 [talk] 04:35, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
